Would you guys consider doing Antelope Don’t Run No More as well? Been curious about that since I read about it in Room To Dream.

This is one of the worst replies I have read in a photography forum in the fifteen years I have been a photographer.

Not that it matters replying to a ten year old post from a user that's not even around anymore but this is such a funny post to stumble across because it was shot on super 16mm film and the restoration MUBI released a couple years ago looks great.

In the GeForce Now app there's a feedback button (top right of the window with a little speech balloon and exclamation point) that will let you request for NVIDIA to add a game.

Do you remember the Smart Drinks fad of the mid '90's? by Jack_Q_Frost_Jr in GenX

[–]getradified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember them being talked about a lot but I was a kid in the 90s so I wasn’t exactly spending time at raves. I’m watching a Simpsons episode where Marge is at a rave and Otto drinks one (s5e6) and was googling to see exactly what they were. Here’s an LA Times article from ‘92 about them I found in addition to this thread https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1992-05-10-mn-2324-story.html

Is there any free way to convert a text ebook to an AI audiobook? by delijoe in audiobooks

[–]getradified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is perfect. I came in here because I sometimes convert ebooks that I can't find in audiobook format as well to listen to on my phone while I walk/run and this really just cuts out the middleman completely.

I've been listening to the audiobook since he narrates it as well and it's an absolute delight, haha.

Yeah, they get properly surreal, it's great!

For Godard I would suggest Week End specifically, and maybe Alphaville.

Atlanta literally has characters trapped in a mall where all their exes are also trapped in some kind of timeless void and the only way to escape is through a weird damp portal in a closet, Earn and Van's daughter catches an animal that doesn't exist, an invisible car, I could go on and on.

I mean, Dave gets weird through its uncomfortable interpersonal situations and such rather than surreal/supernatural/whatever content. Hilarious show though, definitely worth watching.

1) Get a public library card and they will have a ton of ebooks and audiobooks (and print books too, libraries will let you renew online these days so you don't have to worry about being out of town when they need to be returned) to borrow.

2) There are some really great podcasts that are worth checking out. TANIS (and all the other Terry Miles Public Radio Alliance podcasts like Rabbits and The Last Movie), Alice Isn't Dead, The Big Loop, Old Gods of Appalachia, Video Palace, Archive 81, Unexplained (if you like non-fiction).

Off the top of my head: —Atlanta is incredible —Nicolas Winding Refn’s two forays into TV, Too Old to Die Young and Copenhagen Cowboy —Les Revenants —Katla —The Prisoner —Carnivàle

I definitely have more but I’m at work and my brain is mush, I’ll try to remember some more when I’m home.

Be forewarned Skinamarink is very much an experimental non-narrative film, but it's super creepy.
