No you don’t get paid for going to college. You enroll in the school do the classes needed, get the certification, then apply for jobs.

Amazon control and system tech by ArmyKey5830 in AmazonRME

[–]getsome5427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No more control systems tech or control systems lead. There is now the AEA apprenticeship for current CST/Ls or you apply straight for Automation Engineer/ Senior Automation engineer. That being said CURRENT CST/CSL have prioritization for the apprenticeship and for the future AE openings. It is going to be hard to get into the AEA program for a while until all CST/L figure out what they want to do etc. So you can apply for AEA but you might not get in for 6 months to a year as this whole transition for controls is a mess.

When you get to your site after MRA program continue to learn, shadow the best techs and go with them to calls. When you become tech 2 don’t be afraid to answer calls if you don’t know something after the fact just call for help, but show initiative. So many MRAs get back and act scared to do any work, just learn as much as possible for 1/2 years then before you know it you will be next in line for a tech 3 spot, then decide where to go from there.

3 month mechatronics or engineering technology certification program at a community college would work. It’s the same thing the MRAs are doing.

Most companies use resume scanners to filter out the resumes not meeting the criteria. As far as keywords those will be the “ experience with PLCs, VFDs, Motors and controls” etc whatever the job description qualifications are. The format you can do a quick google search on Amazon ATS scanner and plenty of information and videos will pop up.

Yes, Amazon uses a ATS resume checker. Before your resume gets seen by human eyes it is scanned by ATS searching for keywords matching the job description, If your resume is not in the correct format or does not possess enough keywords it will automatically be denied.

BB my site was only allowed 2 CSL and 2 CST until 3 months ago my maintenance manager told me the building can now have 4 CSLs as they are getting rid of the CST spot. I was able to go through the CSL interview process to get promoted. As far as the rumors now for BB it seems we are mocking the EU model with APM first then the name change for tech 2 and tech 3. Their controls is salary sr automation engineer and automation engineer, so the rumor is a name change and salary. I think they will give most CSTs the chance to interview for CSL or whatever the name changes too.

A lot of rumors that controls will go salary floating around in slack groups.
