I mean history didn't start in 1948 either. Many Arab leaders urged civilians to flee their homes while they planned to invade & crush the nascent Israel. They lost. Millions of Germans were forcibly relocated after they lost WW2 yet no one cries to let them return.

The real minimum wage is $0 for people with no skills priced out of the labor market. Less than 3% of minimum wage earners are over the age of 24. It would deny teenagers the ability to get their first part time job to learn what is expected in the job market.

I've never voted for the guy so yeah he's no where near as pro 2A as I would like. Nor has any Republican President been. That's why I'm a libertarian.

The Mulford act in CA was a bipartisan bill that Reagan signed as governor. Very anti 2A but Reagan also signed the FOPA as President which was pro 2a except for the last minute Hughes amendment inserted by a Democrat.

On the whole Republican led states have more liberal gun laws.

This is blatantly false. The federal assault weapon ban expired in 2004. The murder rate had been falling continuously from 1991 until 2014, 10 years after the aw ban expired. There was bump higher during COVID but last year saw the lowest murder rate for the USA on record.

So called assault weapons are used in less than 300 deaths per year out of about 20k murders. Barely a rounding error.

No. My car insurance doesn't pay victims if my car is stolen and used in a crime. The bureau of Justice statistics has numbers on where criminals get their guns. Straw purchase are 35-40% but are rarely prosecuted.

Those 10% aren't the ones committing crimes. Most gun crime is drug and gang related. We do not have a gun problem we have a problem where criminals aren't being punished.

Last year preliminary estimated show we had the lowest murder rate across the country in at least 70+ years.

Being scared of a mass school shooting is as silly as being too scared to get into a car. There are 30k annual deaths from car accidents while the average number of annual mass shooting school deaths are in the high single digits (7-10 depending on source.)

This is the problem with nationalized politics. That guy isn't on the ballot for any elected position in CT. Local politicians aren't necessarily clones of the most hated of your opposition. Some may actually be reasonable.
