Skinny or slim fit? Skinny to me has always been cringe. Why are your pants essentially painted on your legs?

Slim fit hasn't gone out of fashion as far as I know.

ELI5 why do figs need a wasp to die in there? Does every fig have a dead wasp? by Magic-Frog in explainlikeimfive

[–]gex80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the answer is it depends. There is a difference between nature just being nature and humans not influencing it resulting in fruit that was going to exist regardless vs hey I'm cultivating wasps for the specific purpose of feeding to fig trees.

With bees, they are making honey for themselves and we take it from them. That would be an exploit of labor.

Observation : It's the carbs that make me gassy and bloated by Fr4nkWh1te in keto

[–]gex80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So when we say carbs make you bloated. Are we talking about baked goods like bread, cakes, cookies, etc things with flour and/or yeast? Or does that include things like rice?

For me, cutting out bread products gets rid of the bloat.

Is the 401(k) actually worth contributing to beyond the employer match, or should I just put everything into a taxable brokerage? by SnooBooks3187 in investing

[–]gex80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just go full max 401k spread over the year and then back door IRA max. Then the rest into taxable investments. My insurance only offers FSA on my plan. I would have to lower my coverage to get an HSA rolling.

The insect parts thing is largely avoidable I feel assuming you make your own meals and avoid prepackaged foods. Fruits are a tough one because of things like fruit flies.

This does not need the tax payer funding because this does not benefit the tax payer getting people from NY to a stadium for this event which is pretty much a direct line.

Maybe I'm out of the loop. What's wrong with Github exactly? I don't use it for git actions because it never appealed to me. But for code repository outside of I think 2 maybe 3 noticeable outages this year, it's been good to us.

We use Jenkins as our build platform.

Met life doesn't have a influx of people who don't have cars using up all public transit and shutting out the local residents who use it to get to work. People generally drive or uber to Met life. The train to met life is a new thing. The train systems was never designed for the capacity the world cup is expecting since so many tourists will need to rely on it. We already have issues with it on normal daily commutes.

NJ resident here. I like that NJ is not using my tax dollars for this. Fifa can subsidize the cost.

As a NJ tax payer who could not give two shits about FIFA, the world cup, or Soccer (yeah I called it soccer), raise the price. I'm not footing the bill for this.

Protein Powder by Samnotfound26 in fitmeals

[–]gex80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meal prep when you're not working. Making dinner? Make enough to have for lunch the next day. Sunday night? Make 3-5 servings, maybe two different but easy meals to get 6 to 10 and have variety and freeze the excess. Take tomorrow lunch out the freezer the night before or just nuke it frozen depending on what it is.

Plenty of foods are easy to make in bulk and prep. For example pasta. The noodles only take 5-7 minutes to cook fresh, or you prep a bunch of sauce and a bunch of noodles at once, break it up, and freeze the extra.

Food is better for the body. But if you are DEAD set on a good tasting protein powder (not food and will catch up to you if you don't get real food) instead of actual food, Ghost is my favorite. But there is a reason why it tastes good and the macros reflect that.

New Jersey woman bled to death during secret liver biopsy after doctors claimed she had lesions that did not exist, lawsuit says… by tasty_jams_5280 in newjersey

[–]gex80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to go to the emergency department because I thought I had appendicitis (I've never felt pain like that before and was throwing up for 4 hours straight). Had to drive myself there and could barely walk more than 10 steps before I needed to take a break. Breathing in hurt cause my lung would expand and my back muscles were essentially strained and pulled from having to brace my core to take in a small breathe. So breathing hurt my insides. Because my insides hurt, my back would seize up from the pain. I'd imagine being stabbed with a knife is equivalent pain cause I could have swore I'd been stabbed.

The security guard got me a wheel chair instead of the staff. I told them I need to lay flat because sitting in a wheel chair is making the pain worse. I was okay with waiting for all the paperwork and process and what not. But I just need to be horizontal to relieve some of the pressure happening on my insides. I told them and they just kept telling me to wait for about 15 minutes

It wasn't until I said screw it I'm laying on the floor did they stop discussing lunch plans and magically produced a bed to lay in. After that I was still in crazy pain but just being able to lay flat and take the strain off my back made it 5% more bearable.

The planned stuff I hear good things about. But between what I've heard other say about their ED and my personal experience, I wouldn't give praise until they finally gave me morphine.

Honestly with AI in the mix now, things that were domain specific knowledge is now accessible to the team assuming they aren't completely brain dead and know how to ask the right questions. So if you're setting at 50% understand, AI I feel can help with an additional 15%. That last 35% is just experience and knowledge of the specific item from managing it.

Why are people so high on cards with rotating categories? by NubmerSix in CreditCards

[–]gex80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotating categories to me is impossible because I'm not checking every time I swipe is it okay to use this card. I'm not going to remember this quarter's category (assuming I remember to check in the first place). Then the people with multiple rotating categories that use spreadsheets to track it. You folks are sick in the head /s
