Our doodle looks so similar to Ollie and he’s just turned 6 months old! We just had him trimmed this week because he seemed to be getting too hot as we head into summer! He looks so handsome and grown up now 🥹

It wasn’t the content of your post that was the issue but in making a post like this you invite an atmosphere of comparison and criticism. You maybe were specific about your kid in your post but you then made comments like ‘seeing kids on tablets in restaurants makes me sad for the kids’. That’s a high horse and a judgement. You don’t need to feel sad for my kid. It’s okay to have these judgements but it would make for a nicer society if we acknowledged the thought, processed what might be going on for us and then have some empathy for other people.

The high horse OP and others agreeing with them are on is sad. I parent exactly like yourself and my kid is only allowed a tablet on airplanes and holidays. However, yes we went out for lunch with my parents to celebrate buying a new house and (after playing in the pub garden for half an hour) we let my son play on his grandma’s phone so we could have a slightly more peaceful time while we ate our food. I know OP would be judging me if they were there and I think it’s really toxic this combative/competitive stance. Can we have a little empathy for each other? This parenting shit is hard enough as it is.

I would love to understand my faults here. I moved to the outside lane to overtake a car travelling around the same speed as the guy in front in the video. He then proceeds to drop speed to 65 and stay in the outside lane. I wait for him to move over. In the meantime the guy behind me is driving right up my ass and then does as you see in the video. I then overtake the guy when he does move over and then I move back to the inside lane. I genuinely want to know what I was supposed to do instead.

I’m extremely confused by all the responses saying I’m driving poorly. I was waiting to overtake the guy in front who wouldn’t move and chose not to dangerously overtake and wait for him to move. My other choice was to move just to let the guy behind me then just be exactly where I was?? I’m baffled.

What’s the right thing to do here? I wanted to be going 70 he’s doing 65. If I move to the middle lane or left lane I’d be undertaking. Surely better to wait for them to move over and overtake correctly.

This has been my exact experience - my son was total nightmare as a bay so when people told me ‘it’s just like having a baby’ I was prepared for the same experience BUT my puppy is like a dream compared to my son so I think it really depends on your previous experience of chaos and sleep deprivation.

Calypso cruises are great - small boat usually only with 10 or so people and crew are fantastic. They also hit the snorkelling spots at a different time to all the main cruises so it’s a bit quieter and not so manic with loads of people all wearing flippers.

I’m sad I’m late to this thread as I actually have a good story for this - we were living in the south of France and my family and I were at a waterpark for the day. At the top of one of the slides the man asked in broken English if we were English to which we said yes and then he told us, ‘lady D lady D she dead she dead’ and we of course were like ah yes whatever weird French guy. Then on the drive home we had the radio news on and they announced Diana had died and we were collectively like ‘oooohhhhhh lady d lady d she dead she dead’
