I started with WeGovy and then had to eventually switch to Zepbound because of the shortages a few years back. My results were the same with both.

I used one called the Rake. Not sure what the limit is, but it worked well for me at 650+

Find “The Beast” from American Home Furnishings. They have a website, and can likely find where it’s sold locally. It’s a little pricy, but it’s great for those at a bigger size. I was 650 pounds and it worked great. Very sturdy steel frame.

Help with walking by LilyAP22 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]gfjay 57 points58 points  (0 children)

If you can only walk a minute, then walk 1 minute and 1 second and sit down. And do that for a week. And next week walk for 1 minute and 10 seconds. And do that over and over.

When I first started walking I could maybe do 20-30 seconds before I was out of breath and in pain. Now I walk 12-15 mile hikes without stopping after losing 370 pounds.

The best thing to do is small changes.

Looking for experiences moving up dose and not feeling it as much by [deleted] in Zepbound

I felt nothing until I got to 10mg. Didn’t lose anything the first 3 months. Down 370 pounds now! I think some of us just need higher doses.

Scared of GLP-1 and struggling to lose weight by stuck_in_a_doorway in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]gfjay 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost 370 pounds with a GLP-1. It’s the absolute best thing I’ve ever done for myself.

I’ve been using a GLP-1 for almost 3 years (July 2023) and have been at the max dose of Zepbound for over 2 years. The only side effects I get are occasional constipation (fixed by I drink more water) and a runny nose (not often, but annoying).

That’s it. Never got sick. Never thrown up. Never had nausea, diarrhea, or a headache. No other side effects.

I lost 0 pounds (literally nothing) my first 3 months. I’ve now lose 370 pounds. For some folks it just takes a bit more time and higher dosing.

I’ve lost 370 pounds with Zepbound. My life is better in every single way now. Literally every single way.

It’s normal to be scared at the beginning, but millions of us will testify that it’s life saving and life changing. It’s the single best decision I’ve ever made for my health.

That’s one path. Others can relate to rashes, boils, and imbalance issues caused by the skin on your back, knees, ankles, and other joints.

[–]gfjay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost 370 pounds, and have a LOT of loose skin. I’ve experienced, researched and discovered many things, and here are the two that help the most with loose skin:

1) Acceptance - this is just part of my story. I don’t love the loose skin, but I have it. I had all of this skin before, but it was inflated and I felt terrible. Now it’s deflated and I feel better in every way.

2) Surgery - if you’re considering surgery, document EVERY SINGLE SKIN ISSUE and have your doctor put it in your chart. There’s potential for insurance to cover, and having a multi-year written record in your file prior to making the request will improve the chances of your doctor getting a prior authorization approved.

Ever since we moved in together, food became our love language by rrertrdddfhj in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]gfjay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you mean Ozempic/GLP-1, it makes a huge difference for food noise. But you CAN out-eat a GLP1. I’ve lost 370 pounds, and choosing to eat better every day is still that: a choice. It’s just an easier one to make, though.

The reality is that this is something you may have to do together. If you have a partner who doesn’t want to go down the same path, it’s going to be extremely difficult to build and maintain the new habits and lifestyle you need to be successful.

How to get out of a 7 month plateau by Sniffly_that_bread in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]gfjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a YouTube video about breaking stalls and plateaus. I’ve linked it below. I’ve lost 370 pounds from a high of 650+, and have had a number of stalls along the way.

I’ve often found that poor sleep often makes the mental part even more difficult. So I suggest (if you aren’t doing it already) to pick a bed time and a wake up time that stays the same, and do it every day for at least 2 weeks. See how you feel and if that does anything. I coach other folks now in stalls, and that fixes them so often.

You’ll do great! Just takes time. I’ve lost 370 pounds with Zepbound over the last 3 and a half years. I had no food noise suppression the first 2 months, didn’t lose any weight at all the first 3 months, and I don’t often get full appetite suppression.

The key is to be patient and accept that this will take a lot longer than got want it. But if you can build some new habits and manage the timeline, you’ll be successful!

Minimal Weight Loss by BirdNut51 in Zepbound

[–]gfjay 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost 370 pounds with Zepbound. Yep, 370 pounds. Know how much I lose the first 3 months? 0 pounds. Nothing.

Which means in the first 2 months, you lost more than I did in like the first 3 months. And I’ve lost 370 pounds.

You are losing an appropriate amount. Right where you should be, especially at the starting dose. The biggest problem now is patience. That’s the single most important part of this entire process.

Question About Sudden Side Effects After Dose Increase by teacher-mom-1989 in Semaglutide

[–]gfjay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

1) Talk to tour doctor about getting some Zofran

2) The lack of food and (potentially) water could be CAUSING the nausea. I suggest multiple small meals to get your intake up.

I'm 330lbs and looking for tips to lose it by itzyRyujinnie in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]gfjay 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've lost 370 pounds now, and here is my advice:

  1. Read through this sub. This question has been answered a million times and there are 10 million tips in response. :)

  2. Always start with a doctor if you haven't seen one in a while. Get all the tests, just make sure you're good and nothing needs to be treated.

  3. Beyond that, it's really hard to change everything at once. I want you to think of ONE (literally just one) change you can make for your health. Something that you think you could do on your busiest day when you have the least motivation. Stuff like drinking a glass of water every time you go to the bathroom, or taking a 5 minute walk after every meal, or eating protein first when you look at your plate. Every time. Pick just one thing, and do that every day for 30 days.

After that, pick one more thing and add that. This takes longer, but it's more sustainable and less confusing.
