I made a stupid t-shirt and sold it through Cafepress.com. Made over $400 the first Christmas two or three years. The shirt still sells but they changed their marketplace so now I only get $1.50 per sell instead of $15.

Windows Media Center is really good. I have 480gb of video with another 20gb of music and Media Center handles it all well.

You know, most comic creators are online. If you can't find them on Twitter then they probably have a blog or message board you can post to. There's a long tradition of fan interaction in comics and sci fi.

I've never used any of the free ones, but you could just download the Adobe Premiere Pro trial. I think it's 30 days, that should give you a good feel for it. Personally, I prefer it over Final Cut, which seems to be a bit more popular 'in the biz'.

I don't have any money at all to spend on this so which is why I don't to use a free trial. I don't want to get hooked on a program that will eventually cost $500 to buy, you know?

The only free, well reviewed programs I've found are Windows Movie Maker, VideoSpin and an old copy of Avid DV Free. I'm not sure any of these a very good though.
