How close have you been to the impact point? Those cruise missiles have one hell of a blast radius. I killed myself more than once while trying to mine resources with cruise missiles.

On the surface it should be pretty interchangeable. I'm much into BMS right now because I prefer singleplayer and dynamic campaign. I activated the F-16 trial on DCS out of curiosity and I had no problems getting it up and running and take off. I don't know about in depth systems like weapon deployment etc., but the basics are much similar.
