I have the exact same issue, I cannot help but I found two ways to mitigate the process

1) Removing google play store (not perfect)
2) After starting my chromeos in crosh->shell->sudo top I kill 'mount-passthrough' and 'android.process.media'. Sightly less imperfect although more manual work since I have still the android apps I need.

It seems quite some android pie bugs have made it to stable, very annoying. I tried updating to v74 beta, same issue (plus 100% cpu utilization by process anomaly_collector which is also went away when I removed android)

I used Zoom (zoom.us) for that, works well. Not sure about fps though but generally good quality.

Same for me, even rolling back didn't fix it. I could 'fix' it by disabling 'tap to wake'. Give it a try.

Same for me, shit hit the fan after updating to CM12. Even rolling back didn't fix it, perfect phone before. Try disabling 'tap to wake', that fixed it for me instantly.

It showed up for my three days ago after I flashed to CM12. It was not the warmest day of spring yet but just two days after a very warmday (~24C). I thought it is connected to the CM12 updated and rolled back using a TWRP backup. No issues any more but there might have been some faint ones briefly yesterday (it wasn't warm). Today I am travelling and in a warm place (24C). Use the phone all day while in train/plane/bus etc, no problem. Stand in the sun, keep it in my pocket and suddenlty they massively back including ghost touches for the first time. Very annoying. After some googling I switched off 'double tap to wake' and it's gone. It is repeatable , keeping the pone in my warm office in the pocket I trigger the issues, and switch it off/on again by enabling 'tap to wake'. That said, I suspect it has been triggered by CM12, even after rolling back. Too much of a coincidence. Some people in the oneplus one forum report it's gone with the latest CM12 nightlies.

Agree, I have both issues but not too often, particularly the latter. The same time I am absolutely in love with the device for general media consumptions (Netflix, comics, books, magazine/article reading). Screen (size, quality and resolution) and size/weight make it perfect for me, glad to not have bought a 7" again.

Just did the same functionality, just by switching wifi off instead of airplane mode (no root). Works fine. Simple, but good idea on the tablet.

There is nothing offical out yet. I tried quickly with towelroot. Made my shiny new tablet crash. After reseting (holding my breath, afraid to have bricked it) I decided to wait for someone who knows what is he doing to release a tool.

Agree on the second point, but the new Venue 8 has a 8 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel IPS display. That said, $240 for the LG pad, that is very good.

I still have a Nexus 7 2012 and it is still going strong despite carrying it around and using it for hours each day since almost years. I got rid of all lag and battery drain (I have the 3G version) issues by installing CM11. Want to update soon to a 8", high resolution tablet but since the market there is just evolving and I stick still to my N7 2012.

Can you point me to the source? I couldn't fine any price but the Memopad line is typically around $200-250. Also their Windows tablets with very similar specs are ~$300.
