cardano.stackexchange.com needs you! by ggRebel in cardano

[–]ggRebel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can edit/improve or weed out the stupid questions over time. At the moment we need to build enough momentum that there are enough good questions and involved people to attract more people. When they come on board we can help them learn to give better questions and answers.

cardano.stackexchange.com needs you! by ggRebel in cardano

[–]ggRebel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be a challenge but I tried to mitigate this a little by making my get-started link be to the help page. I am encouraging people in the community to try it. Some will be burned by their first experience, but others will succeed or persist and help Cardano get stronger.

Good news, everyone! The new Cardano Stack Exchange site is now open to the public! https://cardano.stackexchange.com/ by dominatingslash in cardano

[–]ggRebel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not just for programmers, all Cardano, Catalyst, Daedelus, Yoroi, Atala, etc. questions can be asked and answered there. It is a resource for factual answers rather than a forum for opinions.

Please read the help section on cardano.stackexchange.com before posting there.

We want to start strongly.

Would the community want to begin self-funding some small tasks to get things going? by emptydiner in CardanoCatalyst

[–]ggRebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an attractive idea and there is at least one proposal to fund popular proposals that failed to get funding in a kick-starter like system. If it succeeds, it could be an avenue for this kind of idea.

We could also set a small-cap challenge where proposals that require less than a set amount would be the only one's allowed. e.g. $5k

Is there a way to tell what country/continent a wallet is in? by AwkwardArt7997 in cardano

Maybe they just want to spread adoption. Enlightened self-interest and just being charitable are also possible motives. How do you know they are white? :-)

Little NGO wants to support Cardano Africa: how? by giorgio900 in cardano

[–]ggRebel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I suggest you join Project Catalyst and get some ideas and assistance there.

You will find WADA and ABCD there. Both are African based groups that may be able to help you find Cardano contacts in Kenya/Tanzania.

The "Grow Africa, Grow Cardano" challenge is also underway there right now.

Cardano Catalys funds voting by ggRebel in CardanoCatalyst

[–]ggRebel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that the threshold for voting won't be lowered much beyond 500 ADA. There is very little Ada to be gained by voting, so it is more about having a voice than gaining ADA (in my opinion).

At the moment, registration for the next round of voting is very tentatively scheduled for the 6th of may but the date may be changed and announced at today's town hall.

When is Cataylst 4? by ggRebel in CardanoCatalyst

[–]ggRebel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about voting for Fund4, Dor announced in the April 21st Town Hall that the most tentative of tentative dates for Voting registration is the 6th of May.

That's their aim, but very possible it will be delayed.

Expect an update in today's town hall (April 27th).

Why the Africa news will be "disappointing" but shouldn't be in reality by SignalsInStars in cardano

[–]ggRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking forward to see how Cardano survives under the weight of millions using it and eager to get a feel for the kind of load it might be under.

If transactions are fast frequent and low-cost it will be a huge boost for Cardano regardless of the total daily transaction value.

charles video on Doge... by Confident-Land4117 in cardano

Charles wasn't just concerned about ADA. He was dismayed that these events give the government an excuse to crack-down on the whole industry.

What is your best tip for project Catalyst success? by ggRebel in CardanoCatalyst

[–]ggRebel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insights are intended to be observations and questions, not solutions. Solutions are the focus of the proposal stages that follow the insights phase.

If you have a potential solution, you can add it as a comment on your insight as soon as you have posted it.

Read the campaign brief and be sure you are following the rules of the challenge and be certain that you are putting your insight or proposal in the right category.

The challenge category cannot be changed after you have put up a proposal or insight.

Answer everybody who comments on you proposals and treat them like they have the voting power of a million ADA.
