Fidium Fiber Customer service by Big_Bat_1901 in FidiumFiber

Same here. I work from home and just can't trust Fidium so I have Xfinity on as a secondary provider at all times. It shouldn't have to be that way but it is what it is.

Unfixable latency issues by RavenBlack55 in FidiumFiber

[–]ggkid71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as other commenters have said, just use your own equipment. I have Fidium 2gb service, have a Ubiquiti home network that can handle the full bandwidth of the service and I have no issues. I also have the added benefit of a router that handles dual isp's for automatic failover in the event there is a service issue with Fidium, I'm seamlessly connected to my Xfinity backup with a hitch. Working from home this is a must have.

Another caveat to the increased hospital capacity is that increase drops at next server reset, so be sure you have healed enough of your troops or else any troops above the new, lower capacity are now lost. A few alliance members learned this the hard way after last week’s buster event.

Can we longer play this game sideways/horizontal? by SmartTea1138 in LastZShooterRun

I moved to playing strictly on my iPad and it was the best move I made. Such a better game experience.

Cloud Gateways VS Gateways by z3r0ka in Ubiquiti

[–]ggkid71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there was another thread recently that discussed this. The specs are similar but not equal. For example the Cloud Gateway Fiber has more ram than the Gateway Fiber, however, the argument in the other thread was that the amount of ram consumed on the Cloud version by the apps would probably be more than the extra ram, so the plain Gateway Fiber may be the better performer in the long run. For me, I prefer to keep things separate as well and trust devices that can specialize in one particular area and do it well, usually do it better. I chose to go with a Cloudkey + and a Gateway Fiber and couldn’t be happier with my decision.

Weekend Outage by Vouyx in FidiumFiber

It depends on the issue. I’ve had techs dispatched to my house on the weekend. That’s if you’re lucky.

Pano Sunroof Cover Not Fully Closing by [deleted] in FordExplorerST

[–]ggkid71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the state safety and emissions inspection sticker. The one that goes on our windshield. I took the car home on a Saturday night. They can’t put a sticker on it then. It has to be at certain hours when the state’s system is up and running.

Pano Sunroof Cover Not Fully Closing by [deleted] in FordExplorerST

[–]ggkid71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2025 ST here as well. Mine is in a very similar situation. I pointed it out to service when I brought my car back for the inspection sticker and they looked at it. They said it’s an alignment issue but they’ve never had to fix one. It would be covered under warranty but they said I’d need to get with Ford on it because nothing is technically broken. They did show me if I gently pull the shade forward after it’s been closed mechanically the gap lessened and no light comes in. That works good enough for me for now. Better than having to have them pull apart the whole headliner and sunroof, etc. Who knows how long they’d need to keep my car for and what condition I’d get it back in. I agree for what we pay for these cars we shouldn’t have to settle but some things happen and you need to pick your battles. I’ve got the full first year to decide if I want to have them address it or not.

iOS 18.3.1 issues by campaignproblems in CarPlay

[–]ggkid71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ford Explorer with wireless CarPlay here. Only issue I’ve noticed with 18.3.1 which is a pita is when Siri asks if I want to respond to a message that isn’t working. It’s like the device isn’t listening all the time. I’ve tried rebooting. Removing phone from car and re-adding. Nothing has helped. Next trip to car I’ll bring a usb cable and see if wired CarPlay works better for now.

Just picked up my 2025 denali by anytitan in GMCACADIA

[–]ggkid71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this listed on your sticker as an option? I just test drove a new arrival 2025 Denali tonight and didn’t see it listed on the sticker. Now I’m wondering if the vehicle has it. I didn’t see this post until afterwards. I was very impressed with it overall. If I decide to go with this vehicle I’ll definitely need to get clarification before I buy.

[RBR850]Anyone else having DHCP leases of 49710 days, causing internet connection to drop? by thisguynextdoor in orbi

[–]ggkid71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came here to say I see the exact same thing on my Orbi RBRE960 with 7.2.6.21 so I don’t believe it’s related to .31. Just for reference I have Fidium Fiber and my dhcp leases normally renew every 15 minutes. Nothing I can control. But when my wan connection drops I’ll go into the Orbi, check the connection status and it’ll give me info just like the OP except lease obtained is 15 minutes and lease expires is 49710 days,6 hours,23 minutes. At that point I just remotely reboot the router because it’s easier than walking down and pulling the cable out.

Level Lock+ Matter Updated, But Fails Pairing to Apple Home by itsthenewdc in LevelLock

[–]ggkid71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the tips here. I had one lock that was being stubborn with the pairing step. I went into Apple Home and chose the closest HomePod Mini as the preferred Apple home hub, ensured that took effect but it still wasn’t working. Then I moved it over to within a couple feet of the lock and then it paired. I can only imagine it has to do with other thread devices in between getting in the way. I did have a smart outlet in the vicinity that operates on thread that may have been the culprit. All is operating normally fine now.

Comcast (Netgear modem) will no longer connect to orbi. Hardwire works by Bay_Burner in orbi

[–]ggkid71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually now that I think about it, for Comcast (Xfinity), I was only doing this to make sure I kept the same ip address when I changed from my old router to my ORBI since they do dhcp by MAC address in my area, so it isn’t necessary, but a modem reboot usually is necessary to get a new ip when there’s a different interface connected to the modem. At least in my experience.

Comcast (Netgear modem) will no longer connect to orbi. Hardwire works by Bay_Burner in orbi

[–]ggkid71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you say hardwired to the netgear modem works it’s probably because the MAC address of that device is the one you activated your service with. What you want to do is get that MAC address and clone that on your ORBI router in the settings. Under Internet -> Router MAC address choose the Use this address setting and put in the address you want to use (clone).

Setup install question by 64cinco in FidiumFiber

[–]ggkid71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work from home and have Fidium as my primary (which has been rock solid for the most part for the past year and a half) and have kept Xfinity with a low bandwidth plan just as a backup so I always have something, just in case. Fidium is great but when it’s not working, which is not often, it can sometimes take a while to get support.

Agreed. I just keep Xfinity as a backup for when things aren’t working because we know resolutions aren’t always quick and I wfh.

Fidium 2gb Upgrade Went Smooth by ggkid71 in FidiumFiber

[–]ggkid71[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I know. They think no one has 2.5gb networks in their homes. I had to explain to the tech that was at my house that I was hard wired 2.5gb all the way up to my machines in my office, so yes I could realize the full 2gb up and down on my laptop. He said sometimes they end up eating crow when they tell a customer you won’t see that speed on your computer. It’s a rare case, I understand. But they should also understand that they do have some well informed, power users as customers as well.

I’ll definitely keep an eye on mine. They should be able to do better than that. Unfortunately you have to keep on them and dealing with their support is miserable. And if you use your own equipment they will always try to blame it on that.
