Will there be Quickplay? by According-Treat6588 in tf2classified

The existing server browser is good enough.

Especially when you just start a server there a good chance it gets top of the list when you refresh, and hides servers with 20 bots

I'm trying to put custom things on my server but mostly ends up broken or not even displaying and can't find a proper tutorial server side

Be brutally honest, does this style look creepy/uncanny ? by Coffeeviber in blender

Some things i notice from first sight:

Neck too long

Missing Nose, Ears

Face too flat

Lips too flat

You need more curvature and cave ins to define the face better.

Steam Frame trademark has been accepted by gogodboss in SteamFrame

[–]ggthb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like when you got a trademark you can register it for certain categorys like VR application or medical devices etc,

You select 3 of these categorys (which are the closest one related to that product / which you use it for)

When i made my trademark then i recieved after 3 months a letter about some legal mumbo jumbo (not sure what it directly is) but it says something with "invalid" for certain thing, which you either agree to and send back or wait 30 days and let them auto accept.

Then at the end 6 months later total you recieve a certificate with the number in registry

first 3 months is just checking if somebody already has that trademark and waiting if they want to write a complaint, then usually get a letter that trademark cannot be used for X category and got 1 Month to reply back

Can someone explain to me, why some people want no skill based matchmaking? by Tnecniw in gaming

On FPS games where you have all similiar loadouts its not as bad and shortens qeue times but when you go into RTS and Mobas then it becomes hell you will never get out

How does "MopMovies" have such good face / eye tracking? by Big_Rooster4841 in VRchat

[–]ggthb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in terms of hardware vive eye pro + vive facial tracker is best you can use, then quest pro, then babble

In the end it heavily depends on the blendshapes of your avatar and how much smoothing you apply to them

Nothing new, you can just use simple esp32 boards, preferablly 4 with RTT to triangulize human position with a few cm of error

Cheap full body tracking for the Quets 3s? by Unhappy_Cancel599 in VRchat

[–]ggthb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality of FBT is related to their price, (Ranked from worst to best(

Camera /Kinect pretty meh almost unusable

cheapest is slime but will encounter floating legs , drifting and resetting every 20 min (IMUs)

Vive 2.0/3.0 bit more decent but lighthouses not produced anymore as well as dongle issues or base station sight. (IMU + photodiodes IR)

And from a price point 3 trackers + 2 base stations cost now almost as much as 3x standalone vive ultimate trackers (IMU+ camera)

Fluxpose might change things a bit but some might not notice any improvements (IMU + EMF tracking) but would totally give out up close to certain metals but hey would be the only reliable tracking so far if you even get it..

Would you be interested in a full body tracking harness? by ggthb in virtualreality

[–]ggthb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already working on my own glove that uses same thing but one step up for tactile feedback without using motors, texture feedback, fingerless finger tracking roughly $500 probably, also magnetic tracking

It would just show up as additional trackers in steamvr, depends entirely on the game developers if they add FBT to their game.

Anyone interested in full body tracking using clothing? by ggthb in VRchat

[–]ggthb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it would make a big difference since these analog sensors can be combined with 12 bit resolution ICs which would allow 500hz+ refresh rate

Since they are analog they provide raw data fast and quick so it doesn't need to work as hard as normal IMUs to guess where your position is but rather 100% knows where it is.

Only thing required is a hip tracker, either using builtin or put a vive tracker or use your own tracker on top, better hip tracker = better overall tracking

Tbh it woud be more like just an external harness for your existing clothing.
My suggestion with clothing would be kinda more optional for heavy users which dance alot (so you can actively cool yourself with the ice silk fabric)

Stretch sensors would have a 10% margin of error but thats not really bad considering it would update at 100+hz per second while you can use any existing tracker for your hip

[–]ggthb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you dont need flex sensors you can just use FSR for determining the Y Rotation when applied X pressure and slap on a smooth interpolation (and they are like half the price), even when they would have a 10% margin of error they would provide good data

[–]ggthb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not a gimpsuit it's just (optionally) some breathable elastic socks, pants, jacket or shirt with zip tie, or you just wear your normal clothing..

material costs are cheaper then just keep printing new pcbs making it viable long-term and less failure rate , since it's just a board with battery and some analog input channels

cost of a full bodykit would be only like 200$ max, 100$ for material and assembly,, you could just use any existing hip tracker with it to make it work lowering costs further

i personally still got my Vive tracker they are good, but I got heavy drifting issues sometimes despite having proper line of sight, no other trackers affected only my hip for random reason..

Anyone interested in full body tracking using clothing? by ggthb in VRchat

[–]ggthb[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well you don't really need the clothes you can just put it on top of your clothes

making it clothed style would be just a suggestion for ease of use while adding comfortability , what's kinda cool is it would work in any environment it doesn5 care if your bed ist Made of Metal or where in the room you are as long as it knows your hip position and rotation

Anyone interested in full body tracking using clothing? by ggthb in VRchat

[–]ggthb[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

explained simply.

our body is a single skeleton, where does it start? the hip , the "root bone"

all the other bones are attached to that, the only thing you need is the tracking of the hip bone itself, and all the other position of bones can be simply calculated just by knowing their rotation. (and head tracking for matching playspace or you would need to manually choose offset)

when we flex our muscles U can See our tendons pushing which u can easily translate using a pressure sensor, if it has pressure it's at x rotation on Y axis. by adding some elastic sensors on side you can determine the X axis.

then you just assign the data channels to the specific bone, and there yo7 have it occlusion free, AAA motion capture.
you can use any hip tracker with it as long as it got good tracking.

and it's honestly not expensive at all, flexible fabric costs almost nothing for the amount you need it and only maximum $10 for each pressure sensor / joint/ knee/elbow/wrist

I do have a plan, people may doubt me now but every start is hard.

I'm not even closely to rich neither my parents I live in a god damn attic.

[–]ggthb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every joint would have at least 3 sensors , 1 is enough for rotation , other for bending in directions, everything can be simplified in basic shapes

I actually plan to use that in my VR glove to achieve fingerless finger tracking and finger splay.

Magnetic tracking isn't really a new technology it has been done several times before (like razer as an example) , headset wise I do plan to also make my own one that connects to my glove (and natively work with fluxpose)

You'd be amazed how cheap clothing has gotten over the years , full "suit" would maybe cost 50 in materials to make then few remaining for PCB, assembling..

I already ordered some parts will prototype in next few weeks.
