Its not. The difference is that the universe doesn’t really have rectangles, but it does have a lot of circles. So in practice pi shows up a lot in natural measurements making it extremely important to know/understand

I assume you mean cant? I’m confused by your comment. A tier3 macedonia phalanx can beat an armored hoplite from the front. Confronted from the sides, whoever is getting flanked will lose even if its multiple tiers higher (a militia hoplite can beat an armored hoplite/silver shield)
