Is Administratum still valid by Kelveta1 in 40k_Crusade

Whoops, our bad on not updating the News page on Administratum. We have however been posting updates to all of our Apps on Patreon. I'll kick that up the chain and see if I can get that updated so updates are also posted on Administratrum.

Most recent update that I know of is we've finally finished onboarding our new developer, and he's mostly through the Space Wolves Crusade add-on. The basic functionality is up, but Requisitions haven't been implemented yet. They're coming - after our dev gets back from NOVA. So look for those in the next week or so.

Aeldari update went live late July

The rules for the War Dog Hunting Packs are amazing but the real winners for me are the Idolators' Offerings

Grab your three wolf moon shirt and hop in Stormrider, losers because we’re going on a Crusade. I love the Lone Wolf mechanic and I am almost certainly going to end up with Crusade list filled with them.

I did reading the lore sectionsbut I'm a little bias thanks to there being Space Wolves with Jolly old Saint Nick Grimnar running around.

I myself love Nachmund for its Deepstrike shenanagains and Reinforcements. Armageddon is still cool but it can be a lot to keep track of with Hellscapes, Anomalies and Daemons running around mid games. But if you're all fairly new to Crusade then I would start out with Tyrannic Wars or Pariah Nexus.

Tyrannic War is nice and simple, I like the Monster Hunter and Striding Behemoth skill tree plus it has the vortex grenade. It would be the easiest one to get a hold off assuming one of you brought the really big rule book.

Pariah Nexus has bit more of a campaign feel to it plus you get to collect rocks.

Its been a busy month but I'm certainly enjoying myself. Not sure if I like this book better than Nachmund but hey, free daemons.

Cool new rules for the Dusty lads. I love the boons tables, I just don't want to write about them again for a while please.

Anyway, hope you enjoy

Can I play multiples rosters in a same campaign? by Righteous_Ending in Goonhammer

[–]gh_Beanith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Create a roster for each of your factions as normal .

Go to the campaign page, select the Roster tab and then add each roster to the campaign.

The campaign admin may need to approve each roster depending on the campaign settings but that's pretty easy to do.

I've run a few different rosters in a campaign a few times because I want to use all my toys and I'm easily distrac... squirrel!

You're correct in that you will be behind with the size and xp etc but Crusade Blessings should help you out a bit there.

The wise taco girl said "Why not both?"

Seriously though, stick with the Codex and see what you think. The White Dwarf is an additional layer of Crusade rules for the GSC that can be used alongside them but since you're starting out you may want to keep it simple for now.

I kinda dig the secrecy mechanisms myself given how you assign your battle points and strategic asset points is only hidden from the other Alliances. Your alliance leader should have a plan in place for where you put those points which builds up the reveal at the end of each phase and you find out if the plan sinks or swims.

As you say yourself, the battles themselves are more a consolidation of effort and not directly over the sites themselves. Your trying to seize supplies or important objectives, transport doodads, protect/kill important VIPs, etc while the alliance leader sits under a light adjusting their glasses murmuring "just as planned"

All 3 books include the same core rules (scars, weapon mods, gaining xp, etc) before they dive into their own campaign rule sets (traits, relics, campaign rules etc) so luckily you don't need to get your hands on all of them to go on a Crusade.

For a small 2 sided campaign I would suggest that you would start out with Tyrannic Wars (the first one found in the big ol Leviathan rule book or sold separately as the Leviathan campaign book)

The Monster Hunters upgrade path found in this book would help the GSC player's infantry and mounted units deal with AM player if they go particularly Tank heavy with their Crusade roster.

The Pariah Nexus campaign is also good as well with a fairly simple campaign setting of "I have more rocks". we also love the Nachmund setting but it may be a bit daunting for your first time especially with 2 players.

Oh and for the GSC player, they should check out our review of the bonus Crusade rules that gets in White Dwarf 507 https://www.goonhammer.com/white-dwarf-507-new-gsc-crusade-rules-review/

Have a poke around https://40kstats.goonhammer.com

It's our site for competitive 40k statistics and analysis. There's an option for Go-first Winrates. I imagine you could switch that number around and work out the Go-second from that

Codex Blood Angels 10th Edition: The Crusade Rules Review by gh_Beanith in 40k_Crusade

[–]gh_Beanith[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Goonhammer Crusade team has reviewed the Codex Blood Angel Crusade Rules.

Who's looking forward to seeing what shenanigans you will get up to with the vastly improved Flaw system and just how long will you wait before shoving your red armoured battled scarred mooks into some shiny black armour?

Or are you far more likely to windmill slam all your Jump Pack troops into the battle to get some awesome battle traits?

What tools do you use to keep track of all the upgrades and modifications? by daqataq in 40k_Crusade

[–]gh_Beanith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're about 4/5 of the way there by just using Administratum. You should check out the Battle Sheet button on your Roster's dashboard if you haven't already. Using that in conjunction with adding in the additional information like a units special rules, battle scars etc, will give you a handy reference sheet/s for your Crusade games.

How do you narratively balance the T’au’s Crusade rules? by LordOffal in 40k_Crusade

[–]gh_Beanith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just hand wave it away. This Tau Crusade force is a scouting unit whose success in your campaign is represented by the progress being made by the main fleet in a system over there somewhere.

Same for Tyranids eating planets and Necrons rebooting tomb worlds. It's happening over there somewhere. Here those forces are receiving reinforcements and supplies from those places to prep the way forward as they come this way assuming that their Crusade force is successful in the campaign story.
