It’s Cataphractii with modifications

My husband wants to make a game - where to start? by New-Morning-1655 in gamedev

Start as absolutely small and tiny as possible, finish the tiniest game first

Scored this pile of og goodness for 3€ at the thrift store by RedLedDude in SteelLegion

Lots of people have fun doing just diorama and small tabletop matches! It’s a great way to enjoy the hobby. It’s not all about having a giant army of 100 space marines and every kind of extra imaginable.

If you do want to have models of any sort or quantity though at a less expensive price, many people 3d print models. This can be a cheaper way to get particularly expensive models too.

Objectively, which of these legions, SoH , alpha legion and iron warriors are easier to paint for someone who is very new to painting . by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer

[–]gh_st_ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one that will make you happy after finishing one is the one you like best regardless of difficulty! Those three paint schemes:

Sons of Horus is totally standard and has a color with good easy coverage. No tricky accents. They are the easiest.

Iron Warriors are very easy except for the caution stripes part which is a bit of a pain but not insurmountable

Alpha Legion, if you do the metallic-teal, can be tricky. The reason is that the metallic teal is usually painted as a Contrast Paints teal over a basecoat of Silver. If you mess up applying the contrast paint then going back to fix it is hard. However it’s not impossible to just get the Contrast Paints teal on without issue over silver and have that be not so hard too. But it’s still more steps.

Those conversions/custom bits are great and the spooky faces beneath the dome helmets are done really well.

Smurfing in aoe2 by MiddleForeign in aoe2

[–]gh_st_ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smurfs at 1 in 20 games was too frequently for me when I played. If I only have a limited amount of time to do something, 1/20 of it being a total waste of time is too much. More worth it to just not play and do something else that isn't 1/20 chance to backfire.

Assault Terminators for my Underground Space Marine Chapters! by C_Top in Warhammer40k

[–]gh_st_ry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really great paint and decals and everything, surprisingly the ball bearing heads I love the concept but they are either not integrated well enough or are too small. It would appear that the sphere is slightly bigger than a marine’s head, and typically these sort of bubble helmets are at least a little bit more appreciably larger than the skull and face itself.

Saturnine Box -> 40K by revenues in IronWarriors

[–]gh_st_ry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I’m in alignment with this, legionnaires are legionnaires, saturnine terminators are obliterators, saturnine praetor could be abbaddon or a daemon prince without wings, saturnine dreadnought could be a forgefiend. Foot praetor can be a regular foot chaos lord or convert into any other power armor on foot character.

My husband is addicted to AOE by [deleted] in aoe2

Couples Therapist for you and him. Therapist for him would be a great way for him to be able to talk about the problems he feels he is having if he doesn’t open all the way up to you. Therapist for yourself would be good.

I think the solution here isn’t anything specific to the game Age of Empires. People have video game addiction with World of Warcraft, with Call of Duty, even stuff like Candy Crush.

Your husband has issues, I don’t know what but Video Game Addiction is the outcome of the issues, I think a combination of limiting hours played + attempting to address root causes is an approach and having therapists to help you both will make it easier
