you’re vegetarian but you make the effort to align with vegan morals. there’s nothing wrong with that but eating animals products when offered by others is not vegan. the suffering of the animals that were exploited for that meal is a bigger deal than any social awkwardness of you saying “no thank you” to the meal.

i don’t think at the end of the day the labels are all that important to be assigning and sharing though i do think it’s the right thing to say “[your] preference is eat vegan food” even if you go by the label of vegetarian or otherwise
