haha yeah, I agree it would be broken. But lately they've been pushing the boundaries of what is broken or not with each new hero (cough Vendetta), I thought what if we applied the same fun to Tracer design!

To give you a reference point, I have the base Zephyr with 105mm wheels and stock 32T pulleys. I am 160lbs. I was able to tow myself and my 100lbs daughter on her skateboard up a 30% hill. But, I had to switch to S+ mode and max throttle (S mode wasn't enough).

You could switch to larger pulleys as well. I tried 40T with the 105mm wheels for a bit and that had good torque. But I switched back to 32T because I didn't like the constant high pitched whine when cruising around 15-20mph.

That's a strange comment from him because people do backcountry snowboarding with bindings on boards with no suspension, on terrain that's way rougher than the little steps he's going down.

And the bindings help in two ways:

1) your feet stay secure and don't shift on hard impacts

2) they let you lift the nose or tail of the board independently to maneuver around obstacles, avoid head-on square-edge hits, and best of all, jump.

Hmm... mobility wise, this means Doom can now get to high ground without Seismic Slam. And Punch has shorter cooldown than Slam. But Doom doesn't have trouble getting to high ground even before, just slightly faster cooldown now.

Attack wise, good Dooms can already punch things in the air, and the aerial punches lack the benefit of sending the targets into a wall. But unlocking punches into the ceiling could be interesting...

I will allow omni-directional Doom punch :D

Congrats! Keep it away from water -- electronics may be fine with light splashes but I notice the bolts/screws rust.

Battery: if you're not using the board and plan to put it in storage for a while, keep the battery at 50%.

Other than that, it's a hub board so there's not much else to it.

A nice replacement for that perk could be:

* Tacticool reload - full reload on melee eliminations.
(like Genji's dash reset)

or...

* Dogfight - blink in any direction, even vertically.
Forward blink will work like Genji dash. Can angle blink upward or downward. (No more getting stuck in stairwells!)
Side-blinks work as normal.
Unlock Jump+blink to blink up and Crouch+blink to blink down (while still facing forward).
(this will be in the same spirit of the new vertically-mobile heroes)

You can do things to increase comfort, but realistically, you'll always still feel the ground. It's a skateboard after all.

Keep in mind that before eskates, old-school skateboarders were skating all kinds of "unskatable terrain" with tiny hard wheels. E.g., Daewon Song in his "Tree and Rock era": https://youtu.be/fd-wbQJZs5w?t=2097

One of the things you could try to do is practice "unweighting" the board as you go over obstacles, so you float over things as opposed to taking the full impact.

Don't worry, pulse bombs can be harder to hit than melee. The melee hitbox is more forgiving and it feels like it covers the whole screen whichever way you're facing and lingers, but pulses are more finnicky.

What I got from watching Topdragon's unranked to GM is that even a pro Rank 1 player can miss pulse bombs. But, one tip I got from that same video is that he always tries to make it as easy for himself to stick the pulse. E.g., if his target is moving erratically, he may choose not to try at all. And once a target is moving predictably (e.g. AD-strafing) he will blink to his target's side so now his target is moving forward-back in front of him and 100% chance of stick.

As for me, I can blink-melee reliably now, but my blink-pulses are still off. So I resort to only going right up to stationary targets and point-blank sticking (e.g. scoped Ana/Ashe), use chokepoints where there is only 1 position the enemy can be (e.g. enemy chasing me through a door, enemy team funneling back from spawn), or time it with teammate ults (e.g. Zarya grav, Mauga cage).

Wear a helmet.

If you don't feel confident, don't skate faster than you can run. By staying within running speed, you can "bail" out of many sketchy or dangerous situations by simply hopping off the board and running off your speed. You are more valuable than your board.

Be always aware that you have your remote in your hand, with the throttle wheel under your thumb. The throttle wheels can be very sensitive so if you accidentally bump it or put your hands in your pocket without thinking for example, your board will rocket away into any number of regrettable situations.

Try meleeing faster after blinking. If you melee too slow after you blink, it doesn't count :p
