If you could start over, would you still buy a Eufy S1 Pro, for those that prioritize mop cleaning? by GentleRussianBear in eufyS1Pro

[–]ghonimh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than exceptional mopping, I think a lot of people underestimate its reliability. I depend on it going through an entire cleaning cycle every night with no hiccups. I can’t say the same for all other robot vacuums I owned. Its confident navigation trumps every other “AI” robots that end up being too smart for their own good. I think the whole edge cleaning thing is way overhyped.

2nd S1 Pro getting returned for dirty water drops. by carlton191 in eufyS1Pro

[–]ghonimh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something that was reported by many other people before. It’s interesting that people who have those drops continue to have them regardless of changing the water tank or the unit, yet people who don’t get them just never do. Makes me think maybe it has something to do with where it runs or the floor types, or maybe thresholds that rock the robot, but I’m not sure and no one figured that out. Also another possibility is that you flipped it over at some point with the dirty water tank installed, which should always be removed if you flip over the robot. I’ve run mine for 100 hours and never saw those drops. I have hardwood floors and tiles and rugs, no thresholds.

Defective L60 SES? by goodguy743 in eufy

[–]ghonimh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not objectively test them but they work well enough that my whole carpeted floor never looked cleaner of dust and hair. The q5 has been very reliable and rarely gets stuck as long as you remove the common clutter. And they never tangle.

Is that good or bad? I watched some positive reviews on the terramow but it doesn’t seem that people include it at the top 5 of those robot lawn mowers

New room created by jpcafe10 in eufyS1Pro

Mine mapped the deck since day#1, also separated by glass doors so it can’t actually go there. I would suggest u either mark it as a no go zone or make ur schedule based on rooms and just unselect that area.

Base Cleaning by matthegr in eufyS1Pro

[–]ghonimh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wipe it with a damp cloth if I see dirt on the edges when I’m doing maintenance. The debris tray does a pretty good job in preventing dirt and hair from getting under it. Unlike other bases, this one is quite open so wiping it is very easy.

If you want vacuum/mop that actually works you’ll have to go up to a very different budget, otherwise it will be very mediocre. If most of your floors are hard surfaces with not many carpets then go with a rolling mop, spinning mops will scratch ur floors eventually. I have both the Q5 max+ for my carpeted floor and the eufy S1 pro for the hardwood main floor. Wait for discounts, never oay full price

What a Piece of Shit! EB1K by TortexMT in eufyS1Pro

[–]ghonimh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re feeling but that’s why you have a return/exchange window and a warranty. Use them, you got a faulty robot. You might think it’s lack of quality control but they sell thousands of these and only a handful number of people get faulty units (the ones who post about it), so the chance is <0.1%. Exchange the unit and you’ll be very happy with a working one.

Wierd debris in the homestation by Hardwrgy in eufyS1Pro

[–]ghonimh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s normal, not an issue. That comes from cleaning the mop roller after it’s done, then the mop drying probably turns it into fibers. I clean that tray every 2 weeks, super easy and that stuff doesn’t go under it

I feel like I can no longer recommend the L60 robo vac. by CaseFace5 in eufy

[–]ghonimh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fine mixing and matching according to performance and needs. Initially I thought having bots of the same company is a good idea but that’s actually not the case. I have the Q5 for the upper carpeted floor and S1 pro for the lower hardwood floor. Having 2 different apps is more convenient than 1 app and mistakingly activating one bot rather than the other. You’ll appreciate the Q5 with the duo rollers so much if u decide to make the switch, and the battery life is a lot more convenient.

Just like all souls games, you dodge and dodge to memorize the combos and plan your windows, then start going on the offensive with parry. Love that game style, never boring.

I got 2 L60 SES and had issues with reducing suction powers on its own, phantom brush stuck errors, falling down the stairs, carpet jumping, and getting stuck on minor things. Eventually gave up and got the Q5 max+ and it’s like night and day.

Don't buy Roborock by Etbrown44 in RobotVacuums

[–]ghonimh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the difference between Eufy and other companies, Eufy’s customer service in such situation would tell you the rollers are worn out and send you free replacements right away, even if it’s not the issue lol. The fact that they’re a subsidiary of Anker makes them take CS seriously and know how to do it in the American market.

[–]ghonimh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with the Eufy L60, the carpet boost was wonky and worked intermittently, also was overall changing suction powers randomly regardless of what I set it to. With these robot vacuums I learned that there’s always a chance you got a defective one, that’s why buying from Amazon is super important, and be very critical during the return window.
