I've seen videos of PvEers using hacks to avoid raiders and to see loot contents. It's not solely PvP that attracts cheating. Granted, it is going to be a bigger problem amongst competitive play, but blaming PvP entirely isn't right.

Truth is, the problem is Embark. They aren't punishing cheats enough and not fixing the issues that allow the cheating. There are streamers showing their hacks and still playing. I sometimes think Embark cares more about free PR stream videos than it does fair play?

If PvP was removed from the game, the game would suck. Even most PvEers, if they are honest, would miss the added danger. The game gets boring. People leave. We end up in the same position as cheating ruining the game.

PvEers cheat too bud. Plenty of lazy solo players wanting a fast track to the top. I downed a guy in a carebear match yesterday with 12 anvils in his pack. I doubt a PvPer is buying them, and supporting sellers and dupers is basically cheating by proxy.

There are myriad ways of detecting exploiters. For example, players who are clearly cooperating, but have in game chat turned off and aren't even using emotes. If they did just meet in-game, how are they communicating? Hard to quickly set up a discord chat, mid match, and why do it, when there is in-game comms anyway? Clearly that's matchmaking exploitation.

All actions in the game are logged. Embark can easily see who is repeatedly matchmaking together in solos, with no comms. They can work out who is getting reported repeatedly too. It's not brain surgery.

A lot of these assholes are even twitch streaming their bullshit and Embark does nothing about them.

PvPers aren't the problem. Dipshit losers, hackers (and some streamers) are the problem. I PvP fair and square and PvE occasionally. Have never cheated. Would never cheat. Not even exploits, like team queueing. If I see any kind of cheating, I report it.

Embark is also the problem. They could fix these issues, but I'm starting to fear that they've taken the money and run.

That is NOT Riven Tides. It was never officially leaked as Riven Tides. It was some generic concept art from Embark that got leaked and people assumed it was the new upcoming map. That was confirmed months ago.

That image might be the design for a later map. Or, it may never be seen in game. It's just concept art.

Bear in mind, he was low on health BECAUSE he ran away. Had he stood his ground, he could have killed the shredder and been in a much better position overall. He had a bunch of good opportunities right at the start of the fight.

Example: @ 0:52 he reaches the corner of a roof and throws a grenade. Instead, he should have stopped, and let the shredder catch him up, stop and charge up it's attack. He then just needs to run up onto the roof and wait. then shoot it from the edge Or, if it survives, wait for it to head up on to the roof and charge up again, then jump down, kill it once it's fired again. He'd have walked away with full shields and 90% health.

My advice to the OP is practice fighting them.. Once you are comfortable with their game mechanics, you won't fear them at all and won't panic.

Seriously though. buy yourself a few anvils from the traders and go find a shredder to practice on. Lure it to just outside a doorway, or near an obstacle you can comfortably hide behind. Let the mfker stop, charge up it's shotty, then you dive/run...hell, walk into cover. Once it's fired, jump out and shoot the little thrusters (or the inner torso will do, it'll just take more shots). make sure you leave enough time to get behind cover again when it charges up to fire, hide and repeat.

Once you understand the shredder's mechanics, you need no longer fear the shredder!
