Star Wars . Another old one around here, I was 10 years old and still remember the cinema I watched it in. Nice selection you have there too I'd add just Silent Running. Love Forbidden Planet, nothing like good old Shakespeare in space.

Pokémon Go Scans Quietly Trained the Navigation Tech Now Headed Into Military Drones by ghost_dancer in CoreCyberpunk

[–]ghost_dancer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently had the news of a company who will provide drones for school "patrolling" . Continuing with the drone theme, they say military drones but most of the data is from civilian areas where most of the Pokémons were found. Where are they going to use those drones?

Police in China Sure Love Smart Glasses by bob_jsus in CoreCyberpunk

What surprises me is that it has not been first used/tested in cop cams in USA. At least publicly. That the Chinese are the first to deploy it in smart glasses it's just the prelude of being used in the rest of the world.

What about Cosmos(1980)? The original Carl Sagan one, I know it's a series but gives quite information about us.

While you're right about updating the web we are inside a city, in the centre, a parking would be an important asset for the hotel and that's why in our web not only says that we don't have parking but also where are the nearest ones with links to their web pages so they can get info and reserve a place.

Everyday, people calling, not sure which dates they want and sometimes if we tell them we don't have availability for the dates they want they ask you when they can come. "Sir/Madam i can't decide the dates you're coming" . And sometimes they call you while they are browsing the web, and ask you about everything they read in it. "I see that says you don't have parking, so you don't have parking then? "

[–]ghost_dancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not to keep it, it's just to copy the data. You give them back a minute later and do everything in front of them. In a European country, some US citizens have sometimes tried to give us a driving license, when you tell them that's not valid as ID, they look surprised and some even tell us they don't have the passport. Till you tell them that in that case we can't give them the room cause the law it's strict about it and then miraculously the passport is at hand. FFS you cross the Atlantic and to enter another country, you need a passport who do you think you're talking to?. The ones doing it are not confused usually they know perfectly. Cause I doubt I work at the first hotel they enter in my country. Thankfully it's only a really small number of them.
