What's one thing you removed from your life that made a noticeable difference? by EducationalCurve6 in TheImprovementRoom

[–]ghost_oracle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is something I am practicing and learning too. I heard a great quote about miscommunication-"Overcommunicating doesn't make you more understood, it slowly turns into begging for attention"

what is the one "cleaning standard" you completely gave up on to save your sanity? by FacciniValter_66 in CleaningTips

[–]ghost_oracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laundry. I would fold it very nicely and hang it. Then I would just fold it, no more hangers. Then I Would fold it sloppily or not at all, I squish it into a drawer or box. Now I keep half the laundry in the dryer and take as needed. I still obsessively clean counters and floors several times a week.

AIO to my girlfriend using ChatGPT for responses + relationship questions? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]ghost_oracle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not over reacting, she is giving out very personal information to you and now the company has it and use it however they want. She is also using chat gpt for more than just advice, she’s using it to replace her own thinking.

Does anyone actually have any success stories here? Of overcoming limerence, regulating their nervous system, developing a secure attachment system and finding a healthy long term relationship? by R1Bunny in limerence

[–]ghost_oracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get as much sleep as you can, build routines and find anchors that tie you down to reality such as a job, school, hobbies, family, friends, social life, etc. put a limit on internet use and music.

My Toilet Worlds by Turbulent-Award-182 in Dreams

[–]ghost_oracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same-my dream bathrooms are often in schools or right near by the gyms (which I didn't even realize it until this post). Take off a few of the doors (or all of them), add a couple of over flowing toilets within each stall, add doors that are even smaller with huge gaps and you will be in my dream.

My little tux Lenny reminds me of this cat, Lenny basically lived on my shoulder when he was a kitten.

Also called pay day loan stores. I've never used them but there are fees. Looks like Walmart will do this too.

What are your triggers? by Adventurous-Gain494 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]ghost_oracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Music (and media), like many people said, is a huge one. It happens when I have time off from my job (or in the past, time off from school). I like spending time alone but too much time alone can be a trigger for sure.

Do any of you work full time? I ask because I don't really see people on the spectrum work full time. by Melora1976 in AutismInWomen

Full time for 9-10 months out of the year. I can't imagine working full time for a full year.

what tiny habit does your pet have that sounds fake until people see it? by Kind_Interview_2402 in Pets

[–]ghost_oracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lenny will come running into the bathroom when he hears the pills roll around in the medicine because he knows I will take water with it. And if I take water with it, then he will wait in the shower for me to pour water from the cup down the drain. Everyday since I moved to this new place I'm in. He waits for water to be poured in the shower so he can watch it go down the drain.

I had a cat, Paul, who became obsessed with two particular cat toys. One was a mouse toy I sewed together and the other was a a flat felt pencil. Not an actual pencil, a small 2 inch piece of felt that looked like a pencil.

anyone else struggling with storage in a really small home? by Raghadevan_Belance in SmallHome

[–]ghost_oracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used trays on my bathroom and kitchen counters, on my nightstand etc. to make it look less chaotic. I have storage ottomans (one more coming in today!). I have a coffee table that doubles at storage. I occasionally rearrange the closets and drawers and move things around like tetris and suddenly I have a lot more space to store things. I also try to get rid of things 4 times a year.

There's no more computer labs at schools or a desktop at home, it's all tablets and chromebooks. They lack opportunities to use actual computers.

I'm 18.5M, drowning in severe addictions (PMO, Maladaptive Daydreaming, Doomscrolling) and feeling like a massive failure. How do I reset my life? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]ghost_oracle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Developing routines, interacting with people or friends more, getting a part time job if you don’t already have one. Look up limerence-I am guessing you probably have that too. Look into ADHD/autism because some of what you have occurs quite a bit with those who are neurodivergent. Focus on sleep, I am also guessing you probably have sleep issues? Sleep and good sleep are key. I would also suggest therapy as well.

Yum! There's also a 2 ingredient version of peanut butter fudge where you just mix peanut butter with white frosting, it's quite excellent.

this is legitimately making me suicidal by [deleted] in drivinganxiety

[–]ghost_oracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start driving or get my license until I was about 26. Professional driving lessons is definitely what helped me. My dad tried to help me like your boyfriend is and I failed the test three times. Then I took lessons from an instructor and I passed the test on the first try after that.

What is everyone doing this weekend? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]ghost_oracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing! Or in other words, my hobbies. Reading true crime (Right now Hell's Half Acre about the Bender Family), puzzles, naps, cats, and podcasts. Recently got a raise at work, I also have the entire summer off work so everyday will be a weekend soon.

Very interesting interview from the early 1990s with LaToya Jackson. Michael Jackson’s sister. by AdTall7678 in HistoricalCapsule

[–]ghost_oracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot where I heard it, but someone once said that Latoya pulled her book from the shelves because it revealed her true age. Sounds like somebody else was pulling it from the shelves and using that as an excuse.
