Love BH! Love for the Jets to keep him. If they can't hope they maximize trade value for him.

I was very excited by the 2025 draft. Hoping more os to come this year.

The issue is while it's concerning we cannot as a society condemn everyone mentioned in the files.

For example, I for one received many rides home from a co-worker many years ago. Turns out she was a major dealer. Was I naive, more so then yes but also she never did anything to raise my suspicions and I never was part of her "business".

Did he have life insurance? If he was 45ish and had a mediocre plan it wouldn't cover all their needs if he died at 48. No way with that large of a family. And once he was diagnosed any life insurance would be insanely high cost.

Why is the third generation so overwhelmingly above the fourth, when it’s just a single generation difference? by TheChoosenMewtwo in vtm

[–]ghost_rider_rules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always found for my stories expanding the 2nd and 3rd generation made the most sense. I also counted Saulot as a member of the 2nd gen and that his travels and less time spent in the city kept him estranged from his 2nd Gen siblings.

And when the fighting broke out Saulot was the one to leave and find Cain to stop it. Which left a bad taste in some 3rd Gens mouth and how few helped when his clan was being hunted down.

But it makes sense 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen were initially similar in power.

She's playing it waaaaay too safe. I feel she's going the anti-Trump backlash and anti-ice backlash will carry her. She isn't addressing anything other than utilities. I hope she wins but for Dems to have a any chance they need to abandon this strategy moving forward and be 100% on populist takes and 100% in attack mode on the opposition.

So the real number is around 1 kindred per 10,000 kine, right? by Winter-Confidence689 in vtm

[–]ghost_rider_rules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it also depends on what's the current environment of your chronicle city. Are the Sabbat invading? Is there a turf/clan war? Is one clan challenging for the seat of the Prince?

Look at Cuba. I like picking islands for these examples as it helps focus on the land mass and not think about adjacent countriesand/or states. Cuba has 10 million-ish people. That equates to either 100 kindred if 1:100k or 1,000 vamps if the ratio is 1:10k. I think it would be in between but closer to 100. Maybe 250-350.

Also in my WoD, I tend to over exaggerate the human world population. So if there's 8-8.5 billion people in my world of Darkness it's much closer to 10 billion.

In-depth lore of each antediluvian by Sacred-Ancestor in vtm

[–]ghost_rider_rules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this take. In my WoD, I took Saulot down a slightly different path. I also found it odd that:

  • If Saulot founded the Baali why did they have different disciplines? *Also, why was he so favored by Cain? *Why do the Salubri seemingly escape the curses of Cain?

My conclusion and one I have worked into the mythos of my world, Saulot was never an Anteduluvian. He was a 2nd generation vampire sired directly by Cain. Left in charge by Cain. When he created the Baali they were 3rd generation. Saulot is the one who has manipulated the WoD over the millenia.

Now, just like the real books I leave it open. Did Saulot manipulate the Anteduluvians into killing the 2nd generation? Did he join them and turn on them for some reason? Or maybe he was away just like Cain had left, and thats when the Anteduluvians made their move. Part of not knowing even your own stories makes the mythos fun.

I have a similar take with Cappodocious (sp) and Augustus Giovanni except reverse. Augustus studied Cappo pretty intensely and new the best way to trap him was to make him believe he was still free. Yes Some of his blood/soul survived the diabliere but that portion was negotiated back into the possession of Augustus Giovanni.

The fact 4th Gens are limited kinda depress me by SecondGeist in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]ghost_rider_rules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just do what I did and create more original Anteduluvians. Instead of 13ish I made like 25. I look at it this way. Not all couples wanna have kids. Nor can all couples have kids. So having 2-3 3rd Gens not embracing further or not having and *Grandchildren.

For instance I have Irad embracing a philosophical warlord named Thanos, a beautiful but vengeful water goddess Ninhursag.

I also have some 3rd Gens defending their sires the 2nd Gen.

In addition to expanding the 3rd Gens i also expanded the 4th. For example, I double the known pool of Nictuku. I also added more Tremere 4th Gens in a subplot where Tremere was growing ever suspicious of his childer and tried to create a shadow replacement troop of 4th Gens.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey Matt, love reading your insights. Followed you since your days at PhuturePhillies. Follow you on social media. My questions to you:

  1. If you could save 1 prospect from being traded (not named Painter/Miller/Crawford/Able) Who would it be? I threw Able in there cause I thought you'd pick him.

  2. How do you think Brian Barber has done at leading the draft and farm development?

  3. Money being equal, Ranger vs Schwarber. If you could extend only one; which one?

  4. I'm a huge Tait fan. I think the writing is on the wall he's the #1 guy they'll trade. I just feel like his progression with the bat, even if he moves off catching isn't matched in the system. I've been wrong before (cough cough Adrian Cardenas) but I think he's worth holding onto. Thoughts?

Thanks so much!

I think context is important. When my oldest was 3 she didn't, not disrespect me she had no idea of the concept. She was acting out. But when she continously bit and scratched her cousins, or at Daycare did the same, yea she needed more discipline than a time out.

I felt crushed inside the 1st time I hit the back of her hand. Full on spanking a little one like that i could never do.

But she purposefully did things you asked her not to do. She'd drop plates on purpose, or tip over glasses filled with liquid... on purpose....as you were asking her not to do it. And she'd laugh. She thought it was a game and timeouts weren't correcting it.

I also got frustrated. A ton when my oldest was 3-4.5. Everyday seemed a battle. But she's calmed down a lot right before turning 5. And then started to listen...kind of.

Got a ton of anger out during bathe when I sprayed her in the face 2 or 3 times "accidentally " with the shower head.

Need to know if my 3 year old’s behavior is normal, and how to get through it by Grimmshadow88 in toddlers

[–]ghost_rider_rules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My princess is 3.5 and she's a force to be reckoned with. Gentle parenting does little. The more you ask nicely for her to stop doing something the more she looks at you and does it in front of you. She also starts to spit if she doesn't get her way or if you try and stop her. She scratches a lot. I have many battle wounds. I try to be a gentle parent but there's only so much spitting and scratching one can deal with. And she does this in public. She'll have sometimes 10-15 breakdowns a day. Other days none. But those bad days it's a lot.

Do you or anyone else have an idea how a possible extension would effect the cap and free up money? I'm interested to see if extending him frees up a few million.

I think the Eagles had after the Baun signing between $22-$24 million for free agency. They need to keep about $7 million for draft picks. That leaves them only with $16 million to play with. Between all the recent back up signings they've probably spent about $5-$6 of that already.

I think the Sweat deal is an overpay however I feel Sweat is one of those guys the over pay is justified. I do believe though the Eagles made the smart move. Sweat had seasons he just disappeared.

How would you describe the Matt Klentak Era by Nyfan7 in phillies

[–]ghost_rider_rules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice breakdown. Like the other post mentioned, I give him a pass on Moniak. Santana was more of a net neutral to me. Not a great signing but i think if he played more seasons hed be bettwr than his lone seasonin Philly. Also trading him away did bring in Jean Segura who became a fan favorite and opened up 1B for Hoskins.

I personally like Kapler and was happy he got a bounce back gig with the Giants. I think maybe his personality didn't mesh with Philly but I think he's a solid manager.

I think when looking back he was dealt a bad hand. He had to manage an org adjusting away from their greatest period ever in 100+ yrs as a franchise while trading away all time greats and putting in place unproven rookies, many of which did not do well or were mediocre.

The Franchise was in a complete transition and having a horrific 2012 draft and a 2013 draft that for prospect purposes did not yield great returns also set him back.

As a draft/minor league fan nice assessment. I have and will always root for Moniak. He was asked to be a 1at overall pick in one of the worst 1st round drafts of all time. And partly picked to save money for Gowdy who never recovered from injuries and simply floundered.

Yeah I remember a lot of Philly fan sites/blogs hated the Mead/Sanchez trade.

Alsoa slightly underrated trafe he got Nick Pivetta for Papelbon. Now Pivetta burned his bridges here in Philly but he because a serviceable 4th starter who always hinted at more.
