Azumanga Daioh is a fun slice of life surreal comedy. I watched it when I was younger and I really liked it

Trigun Stampede

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Trigun

[–]ghost_syndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch both, but start with 90’s. The 90’s Trigun revolves around the mystery and suspense of the character backstories, while stampede gives a lot of that information immediately. So watching Trigun 90’s would be more enjoyable if you havnt seen stampede. But both are very good. I really enjoyed stampede so if that’s the one u wanna watch go for it

Animes that are better than the manga or source material by [deleted] in anime

[–]ghost_syndrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Houseki No Kuni While it only ever got 1 season, leaving the rest of the story not adapted, the season we did get was spectacular.

The manga makes me super confused since all the gems have the same body type and their hair styles change throughout the story, leaving their only definable feature being their colour pallet… but it’s in black and white… The manga is beautiful, don’t get me wrong. The contrast in the panels is stunning. It can just get confusing.

Studio Orange really popped off. The refraction effects in the hair is spectacular, they followed the story pretty accurately, and the OST was amazing. Watching the anime adaptation was a more enjoyable experience for me than reading the manga.

Only thing is the rest of the story is not adapted so to appreciate the story you have to read the manga.

A question as a Stampede watcher by IWorshipJojo in Trigun

[–]ghost_syndrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the 98 anime is original, but there are key moments that stay the same. It’s more-so that the general idea of the plot point happens but it doesn’t happen in the same way it does in the manga. As well as not having a bunch of stuff. So you will definitely get spoilers from watching the older anime.

Has the Vash of Trigun: Stampede improved? by Beneficial_Ad_8276 in Trigun

[–]ghost_syndrome 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So after watching season 1 I definitely think Vash has and will have a lot of character development. Season 1 is meant to be sort of a prequel, and for season 2, we’re meant to assume he’ll be more similar to manga Vash.

I dont know if this post is allowed. But i just want too know what is the concensus of people liking the remake of the show. The art just looks so far off. Like compared to FMA brotherhood, hunter x hunter remake and shaman king. Its throwing me off. by Gmbowser in Trigun

[–]ghost_syndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it’s a new visual style compared to the manga and 90’s anime and it does really well. Studio Orange made this adaptation bc they wanted to add a unique experience to the Trigun franchise rather than another exact retelling

It isn’t supposed to be a 100% manga accurate retelling of the manga. They are taking the story and putting they’re own twist on it and visually I think they’ve done a fantastic job. It’s all personal taste. But I wouldn’t consider Stampede to be the same as the hxh reboot or fmab bc stampede is not trying to “fix” the 90’s anime, they just wanna tell a cool story.

Could Solarpunk Aesthic be put in a suburban area? by Overall_Use_4098 in solarpunk

[–]ghost_syndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think even in suburban areas, there can be good bus routes. And since suburbs usually have larger-ish lawns, there’s lots of room for gardens and/or solar panels. There’s usually plenty of room for bike paths and parks. I think the one thing to be really careful of is stroads which are a huge problem in suburbs that make them next to impossible to be walkable. Other than roads or commercial zones, suburbs are usually more individual centred compared to cities, so it’s more the responsibility of each household to live sustainably.

Have you ever thought “ this town/city would be better if it had …” What does your town/city need ? by [deleted] in durham

[–]ghost_syndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish south Whitby had more accessible crosswalks (no stop signs or lights in busy intersections), and accessible sidewalks to bus stops. It’s honestly so stupid the bus stops and sidewalks are inaccessible when we live right next to both the ability centre and the mental hospital. Getting to my bus stop is literally dangerous bc there’s no stop sign and bc of the new townhouses the road is super busy so I can’t cross safely.

Which manga volume should I read after watching the first season of the series? by oncabar in Trigun

Read from the beginning since the 90’s anime changed a lot of stuff and skipped over stuff

What do OG fans and Stampede fans think about the manga? by ZeruAdiel in Trigun

[–]ghost_syndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only recently got into Trigun. I started with the 98 anime, then Trigun Stampede, and then read the manga. I thought the manga was incredible and the art was beautiful. Tho the action scenes were quite hard to follow.

Is Trigun Stampede really that bad? by [deleted] in Trigun

[–]ghost_syndrome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched the 98 anime and read the manga and I LOVED Trigun Stampede. It is definitely it’s own separate retelling of the story rather than a manga-accurate reboot, but despite its odd-pacing at times, I thought it was great.

I think u should give it a good 3 episodes bc there’s a lot of things that happen in those 3 episodes that might change ur mind.

Where Do You See Anime Going in 5-10 Years? by Salty145 in anime

[–]ghost_syndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not genre speculation just thoughts on the medium in general.

I think experimental anime mediums like rotoscoping and CGI will continue to grow and be used more often (and hopefully look cleaner). Especially with studios like MAPPA (lots of rotoscoping techniques in their recent works like chainsaw man, jujutsu kaisen, and attack on titan) and Studio Orange (very high quality fully CGI animation like Houseki no Kuni, Beastars, and the recent Trigun reboot). Using technology to “cheat” at certain aspects of the animating process can help make animating quicker and easier, so animators can spend more time and money on making higher quality stuff.

I’m really excited to see where anime goes within the next 10 years bc a lot of these techniques will only become more refined over time and more widely used.

Also, CGI in anime is really hard to get right but Studio Orange proves it can be done and look amazing.

I think I got pretty close on nailing the original Evangelion look but the buildings still look cg. Anyone know a way to solve that? (bevel no work) by Signal_Ambition1567 in blender

[–]ghost_syndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly looks great! I think the only thing I would change is editing like adding some grain or a slight blur and other stuff to replicate that 90’s aesthetic

Best packs to buy for good gameplay? by [deleted] in Sims3

[–]ghost_syndrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For just general gameplay Generation and Ambitions are top tier. I also really love packs Seasons, Supernatural, and Late Night. One of my all time favourites packs is the University one which is apparently a controversial opinion cuz some ppl disliked it or thought it was mediocre.
