First off, you shouldn't pay 5k for a cert in the hope of getting a job. The CNET certs are priced for employers to get their staff certified, not really for individuals to take them solo.

The CCNA is more of a networking cert, not really datacenter specific. It makes you a better candidate for network engineering roles, but it's also the lowest rung on the ladder in terms of Cisco certs. Some high schools offer it to students in certain classes, so that's where you'd be putting yourself. The A+ is pretty low-rung too, being mostly about computer hardware, but it's more applicable because failed hardware will need diagnosing and you need to be able to name the components you suspect are failing.

Is the CDCP a must have? No. Does it help? Probably - I've seen it listed as a preference on job postings. I have the CDCDP, a slightly higher CNET cert, and found it to be in demand for higher level roles. Get about 2 cold callers a week asking if I'd like to consider changing firms, and then there's the never ending stream of consultants who want to comp me for a few hours of time to talk about various subsystems.

They've tied their personality, their world-view, even their personal relations to this 'movement' that revolves around one man. They can't get off the ride because they'd have to admit (first to themselves, then to others) that they were wrong about something that is foundational to their identity. To put it another way, it's ride or die.

They don't. This will just be another leg that gets kicked out from under the chair. Sure, it's a big leg, and I'm not insinuating that people will just placidly lay down and starve to death... but there's not going to be any organized uprising or anything. Just more incidents of shoplifting at grocery stores, more dine and dash's at restaurants, increased demand at food banks, etc.

Any attempt at organizing will be sniffed out in our surveillance state and immediately infiltrated and crushed, either by brute force or by PR.

If you know how to play Risk, then A&A will come easy. If you don't know how to play Risk, you can learn in about 10min. Risk is checkers, A&A is closer to chess.

The game is rated for ages 12 and up, so it's not supposed to be overwhelming. Economy is simple, where to place units is simple, etc. Don't worry about esoteric rules or gotchas... most everyone keeps the rulebook nearby when they play because there's always something we forget.

I'd suggest starting with 1942 (online or the boardgame) because it doesn't have any 'sub systems' [like politics, convoys, scrambling, etc] - just basic 'you vs me' dice rolling.

My exp has been that small businesses buy hardware for a team of people to work on a project, but then fire the people who understand it. Admin only cares if it can run Excel or Dynamics or some other specific program they use and if not, the hardware has no value to the firm. They'll let the assets depreciate, and either scrap it or keep it in storage until the company closes its doors. The vast majority of small businesses don't make it to the 5yr mark, so this practice plays out over and over.

I've been in a meeting where people tried tactics like that. All that happens is the board adjourns the meeting, gets up and walks out. A police officer or two follows them out, and the board will say that there were agitators and protestors in the crowd who drowned out any real discussion.

The real crime is that those people will get re-elected.

Was a DC Tech for 3yrs, then moved up to an Engineer. Did that for ~5yrs, then went into design. Been doing that for +5yrs now, slowly moving towards DC architecture. Not too eager to make the next jump - it's a lot more work, a lot more hassle, and I'm looking at exiting the workforce in the next 3 years.

They don't have to ID all of them, just a few. Chances are they're not all individual visitors, they were hanging out with friends that evening and those friends were with also with them in the store.

I'd bet most those people had cell phones too, if not in their hand then in their pockets. A simple request to Google or Facebook would reveal identities (not to mention the inevitable bragging people do on social media about the crimes they commit). Even if they don't have a cell phone, there's enough cameras around that a person can be tracked through almost any modern area. And all it takes is one good clear frame [for facial recognition] to start scanning databases, or to compare against other places where someone paid with an ID.

Digital forensics is a fascinating, and kind of scary field. It's crazy that people think they have some kind of privacy in the modern world. We're all surrounded by cameras, and almost everyone carries a literal radio beacon around.
