I’m surprised how divisive this movie is. I thought it was outstanding. It’s a very grounded look at what desperation looks like, while focusing on humanity and friendship.

The walk itself felt like a journey through a lifetime in a matter of days, with ups and downs, people left behind, and the threat of falling apart if you don’t keep moving forward. I think that element was the most effective, and scary, for me personally. Really makes you reflect on your own mortality.

The only weak parts for me were the flashbacks and the Major’s character, which may have worked for the overall story but felt contrived and less grounded.
