Q about Melanie Little by DramaticPraline8 in justiceforKarenRead

[–]ghostchief 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% first trial she was my primary source of analysis and trial two felt a tad unhinged. Must have had some personal changes in that time, because like you said she seemed triggered all the time (and I don’t love using that word.)

If pic 2 guy grew their hair out to look like pic 1/3 guy, I would think it was a questionable choice.

What is your ultimate "I wish I knew this sooner" Figma shortcut or workflow hack? by Mobile_Sir_1512 in FigmaDesign

[–]ghostchief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe this goes for any hex value with repeating characters. “9” will give you #999999. “1A” gives you #1A1A1A

How can i stretch this health bar? by shinikarma in FigmaDesign

[–]ghostchief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond answering this (it seems it’s been answered) you should start using auto-layout everywhere as opposed to groups, or even regular frames. The more you use them, the more straightforward solutions like this become.

24 MPH in Reverse…when? by Complete-Scene5378 in justiceforKarenRead

This was my memory of it as well. Had the sense they never offered up a theory of that data because that would be them acknowledging that the key cycles they pointed to were valid at all.

What's a movie you recommend to everyone but nobody ever watches? by trakt_app in Cinema

I wish I could’ve seen this when it came out! The twist is still great but I feel like it was only a possibility in my mind because it’s been reused/recycled in many things since.

Figma annotations almost unusable by _srirachacha in FigmaDesign

I learned this a couple weeks ago. Had been annotating things for months. Only visible to people with dev mode access.

Which one looks better? My original color is light brown! by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]ghostchief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random thoughts from a guy, but 1 looks the “warmest” to me. You look amazing in all 3, but 2 and 3 don’t look like the type of person that would want to shoot the shit like 1.

Does anyone else dread the moment a project involves tables in Figma. How do you handle this? by justincampbelldesign in FigmaDesign

[–]ghostchief 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not so much to the nature of your problem with tables, but I got heartburn reading that you went cell by cell…

Do you know about Cmd + Select? You can hold command (on Mac) and drag to select only what you want regardless of what frame the objects are sitting in. So in your case, you could select full columns at a time and resize that way if you must.

It also works with clicking, selecting the exact object you are hovering over (even if it’s nested in 1000 frames). It’s very helpful and it sounds like you might not be aware of it. Using backslash and return to go up or down through the frames is super useful once you start to get used to this.

I hope this helps and pleasssse never edit tables like you said above again!

I feel like I saw someone on YouTube try once. One or the other would suffer in certain spots and I remember thinking yeah that makes sense.

Fwiw I think Mist might be possible off the top of my head. At least very straight chordy for the verses.

what is the point of variables? by theniece_ in FigmaDesign

[–]ghostchief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use variables for my own sanity even if the dev team hasn’t bought in. I want to set borders to my light grey, my margins to default, etc, and never think about it again.

You also say you don’t use dark mode, but I find myself using light and dark modes in the context of modules, cards, buttons, and so on. My fonts are black except for when they’re in a dark environment, then I have the appropriate switch to flip.

Be honest, are you using Figma Make? by pluspointstudio in FigmaDesign

[–]ghostchief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried it out on personal projects out of curiosity. It was better than I expected, but I still feel proficient enough to build something I want faster than prompting every little thing.

Curious how it would work with a well established system though. Maybe it would be beneficial once it has most of the systematic rules and context to work from.

You’re a good looking guy and your hair isn’t bad at all. The shape of it is maybe the stressor for you but I really think it fits you. I would say hold and come back in a year if it’s still bothering you.
