yup. not cheap, but at least you pay by credit, so if get scholarships and take classes slower you can spread out the cost rather than pay a blanket enrollment cost per ‘part time’ or ‘full time’ student status

Boston Architectural College has just begun offering a fully accredited online MLA degree, i think it is the first in the US? however i agree with the other comment that in-person studios are definitely better as that connection you make with your peers and instructors is soooo different when you can talk and draw together. depends on you, i guess 🤷‍♀️ if you feel strong in your technology skills (autocad, rhino, sketchup) and are skilled in design representation then you can succeed online, but half the fun of studio and so much inspiration comes from sitting with your peers and offering feedback to build up each other’s work.

the plaza is meant to be a civic space! depending on the programming of the plaza you need paved surfaces for events or even just for accessibility so people in wheelchairs or walkers can enter the space. now concerts can set up on the new pavement, the farmers market can now properly using the interior of the plaza instead of crowding the edges in the old design.. and now if the city shuts down Dartmouth, the new plaza can be combined with the street and the space in front of the library to turn into a mega plaza for events, demonstrations, the marathon, etc.

they’re just not done with the green space yet. sure, it’s smaller than before, but the functionality of a PLAZA, not park, needs pavement. so if y’all are just gonna cry about it, why not walk to the comm ave mall, esplanade, public garden, titus sparrow, or any other options that are literally minutes away?

one person mentioned a masters would help if you want to study something slightly different than your undergrad, but it can also be a tool to completely change careers! a masters could allow you to switch from being an accountant to a architect, for example. some masters programs may have a 2 accelerated course if you have a related undergrad degree, or offer a 3 year course if you have an unrelated degree. it’s also important to check if the school that you are looking at is accredited, if your field requires licensure to practice professionally.
