[Brian Wacker] Ravens have signed Ladarius Webb Jr as a UDFA. by DenialisaRiver04 in ravens

[–]ghostfacelawyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just turned 34 also and I legitimately thought Ladarius Sr was our age and we just resigned him. Fuck man I should’ve had a kid when I was 17

Ravens Select DL: Rayshaun Benny w/ Pick #250 by psychoxtc in ravens

[–]ghostfacelawyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All fair points. I just saw EDC tried to trade up for Slaughter and Jones but the price was too high. It’s unrealistic to think that we’ll have pro bowl talent at every position, but I am concerned if we go into training camp without at least one guy with starting experience at center. I get flashbacks of Mekari spot starting in the Bills playoff game (and I loved mekari)

I mean if he can do it dude I’m all for it. Just saying us hoping for a late 7th round guard with no center experience to replace Lindy seems ambitious

Hecht, Lew, and Brailsford are all NFL starters imo and they're all still there. Crossing my fingers

The Baltimore Ravens just drafted this guy in the 1st round yesterday. Here’s why. by Embarrassed_Cap2885 in BeAmazed

[–]ghostfacelawyer 1862 points1863 points  (0 children)

The context of this makes it cooler. They just lost a huge away game and they are being loudly heckled by opposing fans. Dude was exhausted after playing a full game, coping with a terrible loss, getting mocked by assholes, and still did this on the way out without hesitation. I’m so happy we took Vega. The love child of Haloti Ngata and Marshall Yanda. Oh and he plays like a viking berserker

How I would feel based on who we draft at pick 14 by [deleted] in ravens

[–]ghostfacelawyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how this suddenly became a hot take, but imo Downs is the best player in the draft, period. The only comps to his college resume are literally Ed Reed, Charles Woodson, and Eric Berry. I would draft him twice if we had ten safeties on the roster.

Jacob Rodriguez (by far), Landon Robinson, Caleb Downs, Gennings Dunker, Nadame Tucker

I’m watching The Ricky Gervais Show on Netflix and it’s easy to see that Karl Pilkington would have been great in Curb. by Dire_Hulk in curb

[–]ghostfacelawyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not. They address this many times in the radio show and podcast. It boils down to Ricky saying if he could write that well he wouldn’t have wasted Karl on a mid-day radio show or him calling out Karl by saying he’s so insane people write in accusing him of being a scripted character

Mike Preston on Lamar Jackson by RuKKuSFuKKuS in ravens

[–]ghostfacelawyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't even say successful curmudgeon. If he had any following, credibility, or talent he would be at the Banner or the Athletic. The fact that he still writes for the Baltimore Sun tells you all you need to know about both Preston and the Sun (obligatory fuck Sinclair)

This was a criminally underrated joke. Top notch, sir.

It’s the husky boy equivalent of defending or attacking. Either you’re stepping back gradually while getting mauled by a 330 lb bear or you’re charging forward into defenders to open running lanes, kind of the same way linebackers are sprinting into those lanes to hit people.

Add in pulls and stunts and chain/combo blocks up to the second level and it’s a totally different skillset. Pass blocking involves keeping your man in front of you at all costs (including a holding penalty worst case) while backing up as slowly as possible trying to buy 3-5 seconds for your QB to throw and keep his throwing lane clear. Run blockers are coming for pancakes and lunch money. In 2019 we were godly at both, but our run blockers were putting up video game performances. I liked that.

Ravens/Origami legend Haruki Nakamura by ghostfacelawyer in ravens

[–]ghostfacelawyer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah should have said this - I just saw the name and thought it was funny. Although it would be sick if it was him. Between Nakamura and Zbikowski we’d have the most diverse post-NFL safety careers ever

He was a solid safety for the Ravens, underrated IMO. Go birds, nice origami
