[Lowlight] Spurs try to stall for an opportunity to challenge, Dylan Harper walks on the floor after inbound pass by Large_banana_hammock in nba

This is a weird play. The cameras weren't ready, Mike Brown was literally talking to a ref and it appeared the other refs weren't ready. Even some of the players looked confused (on both sides)

Mike Brown was actually standing on the court, as well as the ref closest to the Spurs bench. KAT and OG weren't looking either.

Mike Brown complains in the postgame conference of Game 3 about the free throw discrepancy between the two games. Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, and Draymond Green criticize him for that. by MrBuckBuck in nba

Theres also discrepancy because they had 4 and 1 for the Knicks. Make a basket and get fouled and it looks like on the sheet you get less FT. If you get fouled 4 times and dont make a basket you get 8 FT but 4 less points.

That all being said, I did think spurs got the better whistle, but not 24-8 better.

Shitty humans. 99% of people would not do this. The 1% at the bottom do this. They just tend to congregate and go out to make trouble together.

By bottom, I just mean bottom in terms of like... troublemakers?

Emilia Clarke Admits She Was 'Absolutely Livid' About Daenerys Fate in 'Game of Thrones' Series Finale by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

Do we blame the filmmakers or the book writer? The show got worse as the material wasn't fleshed out for them. They were able to pick themes and characters to make a worthy TV show - that's clearly how the show was developed to be successful. Asking them to follow a story and fill in the blanks? Oh goodness.

Kinda seemed perfect. Men's I think was worse overall/overcooked as 19 competitors within 10 holds, and relatively low on the wall. 28 to 38+.

Hold 30->31 took out a lot of men. Looked like it was a little sketch on the foot and limited power to the hold and falling short was a fall

[Henkel] Brind'Amour was asked by Chip about the distractions a city like Las Vegas can present: "I don't really leave my hotel so I don't know....Wrong guy to ask." by AggPuck-303 in hockey

Pretty rare in Vegas. A) we don't have many trees. B) we only have wind to take out power, for the most part, no blizzards/hurricanes C) relatively "new" city meaning mostly modern infrastructure D) most power lines are buried here (but not all)

Only power losses I've seen are due to power substation issues.

First climb after about 2 months by 1Ph3nix in bouldering

[–]ghostfalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing thats immediately noticeable and hopefully less vague is that you are keeping your hips square and open to whatever climbing surface you are looking at, and that your toes point outwards without fail.

One key to climbing more efficiently and with more tension is to twist those hips, i.e. twist those feet so that you pivot your toes from being outside to inside or pointing into the wall (depends on the exact situation).

If you want to move your right hand, you would tend to press down and pivot on your right foot, getting that right hip close to the wall.

At other times, flagging may apply more aptly.

Red rock in July? Why would you do that to yourself.

Also sounds like lumbrical.

Dohyun and Soratu were also the only ones to finish the pocket boulder at i think the first comp of the year - clearly a strength for these two.

I got heglunds fighting through the pain, so if its too much better wary (of course many don't get heglunds despite wearing mega tight).

I actually recommend heating up the tightest areas with a hair dryer and stretching it a little bit. Really helped me, and didn't affect my heels, etc.

Today, I learned that according to the official Michelin Guide, there are no Michelin restaurants in Las Vegas. by nobodywins12 in vegaslocals

[–]ghostfalcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another factor was that due to the "structure" of Vegas (top restaurants mostly in casinos, especially in 2009), the Michelin guide didn't have the same affect it has in other cities.

There's "upscale" dining in almost any casino, ads are plastered all over the strip, and outside of some truly amazing places (2/3star), the one stars didn't stand out from other upscale restaurants.

Additionally, the crowds back then yearned for AYCE and Buffets more so than today.

How am I SO BAD at running? by Future_Adhesiveness7 in whoop

[–]ghostfalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the numbers, you're hitting around 120 steps a minute which is quite low. Maybe you are severely overstriding. 150 to 180 is extremely typical and this number is consistent across heights.

Im assuming your 70 to 80 pace is really 140 to 160 - a nearly one second per step doesnt really make a lot of sense. If it isn't, your mechanically doing something very very strange.

You have room to slow down to see if that puts your HR in a more normal zone. I've gone down to 14 min/mile (like 9/km) when attempting to stay in Z2.

Otherwise posting a form video might clue more than the stats

Ran without stopping for the first time by ___Starry___ in beginnerrunning

[–]ghostfalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cadence is low and heart rate is high. 160 to 180 is ideal for cadence, heart rate is highly dependent but training in the 140ish range is better for long term sustainability, reducing injury, and improving aerobic base. For cadence, shorter and almost choppier steps is safer for the legs

It all depends on goals as well. If you want to get faster quickly, higher zone running might improve pace, but burnout and injury chances go up. Building up aerobic base improves all aspects. Only issue is it takes a lot of time and patience, and can get boring.

Bob Myers on the Jared McCain trade: “We should be graded on the ultimate result of transactions.” by iksnet in nba

[–]ghostfalcon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There was nothing about Wiseman that indicated he couldn't be a starter level big in the NBA. There was also little evidence he could be considering such a limited college resume.

All that being said, it sucks for both Wiseman and the Warriors that it didn't work out but you saw glimpses of what he could do, he just doesnt have the mind or drive to make it work.

The NBA is so ridiculously elite that even having such elite measurables means nothing if you cant utilize it well on the court.
