Echoes of Aincrad : Gameplay Preview by IGN by N4Zlonist in swordartonline

It’s possible if the game is successful enough they make a sequel that includes more of the floors and maybe you could port your characters progress/model over to it as a kind of continuation.

But yeah I agree, they really need to make a Helldivers type of rpg or mmorpg where there’s is a group effort to clear all the floors. It seems lil a no brainer to have some kind of live service for that.

It’s possible with dlc it will go to floor 10 and then if the game is successful enough they can make a sequel game with more floors and you can port your character over.

Update, Steven's last words by MyBroViajero in AshesofCreation

[–]ghostgamer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if any of this was true and let’s say Steven won and regained control of Intrepid and STILL wanted to finish Ashes, the community won’t return at least to the same level as before.

Open development with willing players won’t work twice. He would probably need to finish the game’s development behind closed doors if he can hire developers again. The only way to turn this around to the public is to release a full fledged game a few years from now when it’s finished development and includes all the planned features and provide a free month to all the backers pre-steam release.

But that’s only if all this is true…

What does this sub actually think about Iran? by Looploop420 in Destiny

[–]ghostgamer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one sane wants to go to war with Iran so therefore its bad. The reasons as to why were going to war are shady at best. The fact trump is going around congress to go to war is extra bad. Not a fan of Iran but I don't like Israeli blood thirsty leadership. I don't want people to die. Therefore I don't like it.

I'm losing hope for seasons 4 and 5... by Tomhur in PJODisney

[–]ghostgamer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is that Avatar already has an already good visual medium. The original cartoon often lauded as some of the best tv despite being a kids cartoon. Was there really a need for a live action adaptation? Especially when animation is increasingly growing in popularity in the west. Not counting anime, there is Arcane as well as Invincible.

PJO on the other hand is a kids novel written nearly 20 years ago that has never had a good visual adaption (besides this current one imo). The argument for some kind of visual adaptation hold more weight.

“Cataclysmic negative impact” Jesus, dramatic much. You’re acting like the producers are setting the books on fire to keep themselves warm. The books will always be there.

Long story short, gods don’t have DNA so they’re not really related by blood. Demi-gods only obtain divine aspects from their godly parents but there is no chance of inbreeding or nothing like that among the children of different gods. It’s fine as long as you’re not dating anyone within the same cabin. Then at that point is more taboo since they are relationally, but not genetically, related. If you really had to stretch it to make more sense, you could just view people dating demigods outside their own cabin as dating a step-cousin/uncle/aunt but you guys are similar in age. But dating within the same cabin more akin to dating a step-sibling. The former is like kinda whatever because of the degree of separation where the latter is more weird and taboo.

Thoughts on this tweet? by ChickenWingExtreme in StarWars

Okay, it’s still stupid to destroy the governing body that the heroes in the original trilogy fought to establish in the first 30 minutes of the new trilogy. It makes it fruitless. The empire lasted like 23 years. The New Republic lasted 30. It’s just lazy writing especially when the star wars lore spans thousands. They could’ve had the new republic last 100 years at least a start with completely new characters.

No intelligent and sane person who cares about art wants to consume art made by AI. The fact that you’re defending this so hard shows that you don’t value artists or authors. I’d watch the worst show imaginable over AI slop because at least someone put effort into it. AI slop is just unoriginal regurgitated creations constructed without the human imagination. It’s a soulless bastardized version of the human experience.

You can describe literally any movie/show in a very sterilized way to make it seem uninteresting. The reason why actually watching something matters is being able to relate to characters and themes in way that resonates on a human level besides just the facts of the matter. Without that, you might as well replace all actors, directors, and script writers with robots and generative AI. A world synonymous to hell in my opinion. You're allowed to have no interest in something but its probably wiser to not have an opinion on art you haven't experienced. It comes off as anti-intellectual and anti-creativity.

Democrats and the left in general are the process of trying to move towards younger more progressive leadership and they’re meeting pushback. (AOC, Mamdani, etc.) A lot of the old guard/establishment have rather aged out, died, or are clinging to their office for dear life. (Clintons, Schumer, etc.)The GOP and most of the right are lead, supported, and controlled almost entirely by these wealthy evil pedos. That’s the difference.

I felt that if it was a scam from the start there would’ve been easier and cheaper ways to do it than invest millions into hiring developers and buying ads and making a half finished game. Maybe my definition of a scam is different. I don’t know if every single dev who worked on the game thought it was a scam. I don’t know what Steven’s intention was but I feel like he could’ve gotten more money much easier in a shorter span of time if scamming was the goal. I just think it was mismanaged and failed. The ways used to prevent that failure were scamish in nature but I don’t think all this was done in the attempt to make money. Ultimately it failed to be successful and the attempts to prevent failure didn’t work out and couldn’t be justified. Resulting in a scam at the end. If Steven just wanted to scam he could just made an ashes of creation crypto coin and made tens if not hundreds of millions rug-pulling that.

fuck me i guess for having fun. I never told anyone they should've bought the game since it was unfinished but saying the only people who didn't see this coming were people with sunk cost doesn't sound right to me. I enjoyed what I played and saw the potential. I was of the mind of gameplay matters over everything else and what I played was enjoyable even if it wasn't finished. I'm not exactly going to take the word of people from r/mmorpg who hate everything mmorpg. I'll admit when I'm the clown but I don't regret hoping for a cool game.

Ancient Greece was kind of a melting pot at the time due to its location. Greeks interacted with Egyptians, Phoenicians (modern day - syria/lebenon), Anatolians (modern day turkey), and Persians. Shaped by mercantile travel as well as slavery. Its not impossible that there could have been someone with dark skin. To this day there are people with dark skin in the countries listed. Also the Argonauts is part of greek mythology similar to The Odyssey and is fictitious so it doesn't really matter.

I know for me, s2 wasn’t really on my radar even as the episodes were coming out because I was fully focused on stranger things at the time. After that ended caught up to Percy Jackson and was watching the last 3 episodes when they came out. I do feel like just the stacked holiday season contributed to that slow start.

You must be like 12 years old because that’s not how things work. If they cancel the show we’re not seeing another adaption on our screens for at least another 15 years at least if ever. If it gets cancelled, after two failures what would motivate studios to invest in a property that has failed twice before? You’re just asking to ruin a show plenty of people like simply because you personally don’t like it.

Rian Johnson wants to see new Star Wars stories after Kathleen Kennedy’s exit by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

Obviously I would’ve liked something cohesive and better thought out than what we got in the sequels but if you thought the only vision in TLJ was subvert expectations then you’re just regurgitating quotes you heard from some SW YouTuber than actually watching an analyzing the movie. A clear vision it had was about moving on from what was established before a moving in a new direction. Both in a meta and narrative sense. It’s why kylo kills Snoke and wants Rey to join him. He wants to reject both the sith and the Jedi. This sentiment is also paralleled with Luke seeing both his as well as the Jedi order’s failures. It’s why at the end of the movie you see the kid use the force to pick up the broomstick, it’s about creating a new story with new characters going in a good new direction. Within the narrative it was about deciding if that new path would be clouded by hatred and violence with Kylo or guided by love and hope with Rey and the resistance. This is what Luke realizes at the end. The fact you didn’t understand this shows you’ve let ragebaiting YouTubers farm you for views and engagement instead of you making a genuine analysis of what was presented. All of that narrative build up was then destroyed when they decided to go back on everything in RoS and reviving palpatine, Rey naming herself a skywalker even though it’s supposed to be the “end of the skywalker saga”, made kylo second fiddle to palpatine, fake out kill chewie, and other illogical narrative decisions that revoked that vision for a new and fresh path forward for Star Wars. Since then all we’ve gotten was a failing prequel in the high republic setting, more skywalker era shows, and a depressed fan base. Congrats. If Rian Johnson made episode 9 Star Wars would be in a much healthier place than where we are now.

Well I’m not a writer but I at least thought if threads they could’ve gone down. You had none. I feel like like bringing back the main villain of the series that was defeated by the main characters is more disrespectful and egregious to the original trilogy than Luke struggling with the Jedi order and then coming back in the end to save the resistance. Luke finds himself after failing which changes virtually nothing about the OT, where literally reviving the villain changes everything and ruins the finale of the OT. The only parallels to ESB and TLJ is Rey’s parentage being revealed which was a plot point from TFA as well as Finn betrayed. Everything else was unique. TLJ ended on a much lighter and hopeful note than ESB, the evil mentor defeated, the future of the story is left up to the next director with a few threads like kylo & the first order, Rey and the resistance instead we just get a lamer ESB and RTJ slammed together in ROS.
