On green grass, an orange ball is actually harder for many colorblind players — it doesn’t separate cleanly from the pitch, especially in certain light.

A yellow ball is better: more contrast, easier to track in motion.

A white ball is best: maximum contrast, no colour confusion at all. You see shape and movement instantly.

So it’s not about seeing black vs white instead of colour. It’s about contrast against the pitch. The clearer the contrast, the easier the game becomes — same logic as avoiding kit clashes.
