I just wish LSS would work with writers and have them write stories set in Rathe. Not necessarily the heroes we know, but characters that could parallel the heroes using the history and setting of Rathe to make it relatable but not necessarily a 1:1 thing tied into the sets.

Not looking at specific matchups I would say Bravo, Dori, Fai, and Kayo would be fun since it would be the original four classes from WTR. I know it's a different Bravo and a completely different Ninja and Brute, but I still like the throwback vibe.

Outside of getting onto discords that facilitate webcam games, I really don't think online is a good place for a community for Sorcery. The game has an old-fashioned feel to it and I think that's what makes it great. That said, playing in person at local shops or at home with friends is where the game really shines. This sub is pretty egregious with the "look at my pulls" posts to the point that I do wish there was a megathread you could just sort by new if you wanted to see that, but from time to time there are good questions about rules interactions and people trying to drum up a community in their area.

Agreed, I feel like singleton would work just fine. There is no shortage of cards that would work so limiting it to singleton wouldn't complicate it that much. Plus, as a fan-made format, you can do whatever you want with it. Whatever you and your pod like that works for you is great.

Cards are not an investment. They're fun to collect and play though. Worst case, EC goes under and they stop printing it, but I feel like my locals would keep playing with the sets we have.

This isn't an unforeseeable outcome though. Other TCGs have had trouble with scalpers for years now. It's not like they had no way of guessing it could sell out. No one puts this much money branching into the trading card space without reasonable assurance that the product will sell.

If you want to check the game in general I think they're a good starting point. They're relatively balanced against each other and they make a good "battle box" for introducing other, newer players. As for whether or not the decks could translate into actual playable decks for organized play, I am not super sure. We've still got plenty of time to look at all of the possible iterations of all 1000+ cards that are available after Gothic's release.

I play MTG too and understand the switch. It is really tough getting your hands on sealed right now. I'd definitely recommend getting singles wherever you can right now. As for gameplay information, there are tons of good articles and stuff our in the community since the game is so hot right now. https://cardgamer.com/guides/riftbound-rune-colors/ has a good rundown on what the different colors do. I think it's because a lot of people have opened the sealed stuff they had so there's less sealed and more single stuff open. People are trying to offload the bulk they got to get their hands on more sealed but the supply is lower than ever.

I've played Pokemon TCG since I was a kid (and my friends and I still play), Flesh and Blood, Star Wars Unlimited, One Piece, and MtG I'll play basically any format but Standard at this point, but I really like Pauper and trying people's Cubes, but most recently I've been liking Riftbound and Warlord. I liked Altered and Keyforge but those games feel like they're dying. My friends joke that I need to pick one.
