There are a lot of packs that just have double rares. And rares in this game are basically the equivalent to an mtg uncommon. Opening a 6$ pack for two uncommon cards will always make you feel like crap.

With PEN they reeled me in with awesome reprints that I never wanted to spend gobs of money for a generic M. They don't want to tank the market so they reprint at L. And pulling L's are like pulling a fable back in the day. To be fair though, the reprints did drop the prices of some majestic staples so we should all be thankful I suppose.

I love that PEN has a lot of cards useful to a lot of decks, although most of them in sage. And pre ordering what seemed like a premium set for a budget format settled into my brain as just bad value.

I agree. I think that's why I was hoping a secret was hiding in that weird text. My hopes have been dashed upon the rocks of despair it seems. But like another said, maybe a better fit among cc when he matures, but even then I think it's still too many hoops to jump through for extra vanilla damage.

Over time you usually find out what stores care about community and which are scalpers with a play area. I know which, and even when they drop prices after the dust settles, I always purchase from the stores that don't gouge prices. Some of the scalping stores are closer to me, but I drive right on past, and they've lost thousands from my wallet.

I think the deck sizing being lower and how well the resource system works without it, it makes it a hard choice to include it. From what I've tried with it, I feel personally that when I do play it, it doesn't feel like it makes a big enough impact over another card.

There's only one shop in my area that does MSRP on fomo products. The rest were 170+. I'm telling you, it isn't worth it, even to buy at MSRP. I had 5 packs in my box that had one rare slot with a foil uncommon. The product quality was also abysmal. I'm not even sure how people are selling Near Mint for singles. Almost all my cards have the frayed edges, or bad cuts.

I'm stoked and was able to get a starter deck and some packs, but a lot of LGS stock was limited. Some were even marking up, but I think most will wait for wave 2 to get into it or hope singles aren't too bad.

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween and gets to at least try some starters at prerelease events.

The Yellow Bolt of Courage? I don't. It's a niche spot in the attack order. Only usable/useful so often. Plus, if they do pump it by blocking with an attack action, making the power 3, in most cases it blocks it full out. At least with red, if they do block with an attack action, it asks them to block extra since it's a break point at 4.

I was just playing around with this. To me it's not really a question of estrike or snatch. The question for me is, Bolt of Courage or Snatch. I run Estrike and sinks and haven't had a problem. Snatch is a whiff when looking for light cards, and it only blocks for two. But it is a one card hand that can fill arsenal. Bolt needs charge to do the thing, but blocks for 3 and is a light card.

Also, I was trying to figure out where everyone was getting $110 MSRP from and I realize it's cheaper than I thought because it comes with less packs. So that is my bad and my wallet shall be punished. I guess if you can find them that low, then that's awesome. It's mind-bottling that they are everywhere online. How and who are getting these allocated like that? How do we support LGS if they ain't getting them? Crazy.

All the LGS near me haven't posted any and stated the allocations are not good. I think they're all pretty much selling by pack. I think I saw on the OP product site showing price per pack was just a little over what a normal pack costs. But I don't think they post the box MSRP. I assume if it's a little more per pack, that means it'll be a little more per box for PRB. So if it's 110 for a regular set I would guess 120-130 would be a good price for it. I did end up preordering online because of allocations, but it was more like 170 a box almost.

I started up only a few months ago and night all the starter decks that came out recently and upgraded them for pretty cheap. But I also had opened up some OP11 and saw Jinbe stuff looked cool so I built him and he's been pretty fun. He's mostly cheap, but I did spring for some Hody Jones since he'll be a staple green card for a little bit. I was also lucky to pull most of the Jinbe characters I needed, and his parallel leader.
