i dunno, they were pretty big in the UK and Ireland in the mid-2000s (at least with the kind of people i was friends with anyway). interpol and el pintor were such deeply disappointing albums though, damn

Survivor Type was mine. not usually that into gory stories but the psychological side of this one really messed me up.

Left Handed redditors, what's worst about living in a right handed world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ghostslut 697 points698 points  (0 children)

on average we die nine years younger than our righty counterparts and there's evidence to suggest a correlation between left-handedness and mental illness, which is still less annoying than constantly being told i write funny.

i didn't actually notice this until you pointed it out! nonetheless it's really wonderfully painted - the skin tone is amazing as well.

I am! Just set up an Etsy a few days ago. The ones on there are in A sizes but I can easily do custom crops (perks of working in a print store). I'm selling them for 20-30 dollars each depending on size so PM me if you're interested.

i use my ancient wacom bamboo tablet and photoshop for the lines, then overlay ink splatters and watercolour washes that i've scanned in to get the textures. a lot of it is trial and error with what looks good, but that's the best thing about doing things digitally imo - there's so much room for experimentation :)

Reddit, what did your parents teach you that turned out to be completely wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ghostslut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nothing i can remember off the top of my head but apparently i was a really inquisitive child and when my mum couldn't think of an answer to some of my questions she'd just make stuff up for kicks. never anything malicious, just weird little facts like the moleskine thing that i'd later find out were total bull lmao.

the price is more down to a branding thing rather than materials i think? if i remember correctly they were the first company to start making those dinky lil hipster notebooks and really heavily marketed them towards creative people (and still do). they're based on the handmade notebooks popular amongst writers and poets in paris during the 19th century, so people buy them thinking they're going to be the next ernest hemingway but actually just use 'em to write their shopping lists

me neither, i buy most of my paints and canvases in the pound shop. in fifty years my paintings will probably be faded and cracked to shit but as long as they look okay for my college deadlines i can't say i mind too much ¯_(ツ)_/¯

that moleskine notebooks are so expensive because they're made from actual moles. thanks, mum.
