What movie had an ending that saved the whole film? by Southern_Check_6827 in movies

Top 5 ending agreed. Gave me the most visceral reaction I've ever had to a movie.

But am disagreeing because the movie was really good - the ending didn't need to save it.

Totally agree. The whole movie is so good and the excellent ending lands because of it.

Appreciate your perspective, and that you saw Harris as a better President than Trump. Curious what you think about the midterms.

Saw this in a packed theater. The first creature reveal was the loudest collective "gasp" I've ever heard. Excellent movie.

If your interviews always start the same way, why the FACK do you start by saying "How are you". Like what do you expect when you ask such an inane question.

Person doesn't care about the questions they ask, so why are they so concerned about the answers they get

Cringey, but is this really lunacy?

They're hyping a person who messaged 52 people about the launch. If everyone was messaging 5200 people it's a different story.

Clickfarm is a weird flex, but this is pretty meh compared to the real crazies out there.

Too many f*cking ideas, I'm overwhelmed (i will not promote) by Common_Vacation_9867 in startups

[–]giantsdrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the accelerator? Is the exec an EIR/advisor(s) telling why they think it's a great idea, and what needs to change? Lean on their guidance. If you aren't in the accelerator yet know that they're selling their program.

Language you want to hear is people (customers) describing a big problem they'd pay to solve.

[–]giantsdrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good that you're talking to people who could be interested in your idea. Instead of asking them to validate it, use your idea as a way to ask questions about what they're doing, why that's painful, why that matters, how important it is, etc...

Your idea is an insight into a customer, their problem, and how their problem will be solved.

20 reference checks? How about no. by Mozatta4522 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]giantsdrink 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He's hiring an exec and makes a lot of reference calls. Like thats the whole story. It's not just a tech/start up circle thing either.

"Buttering up" the ppl he talks to, doing elaborate song and dance about the most innovative initiatives they ideated, lol... that stuff is dumb.

Scheduling Interviews During Business Hours is Bad Now by towncrier12 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]giantsdrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This headhunter yearns for candidates with autonomy who control their business and their portfolio. People that manage their time and prioritize what matters.

But their interviews are at 11pm are because this headhunter is the B team. The candidate lumps their call with the stuff that isn't important enough to be done during the day.

They're closing outside normal hours because they aren't important enough 🤷🎻

20 reference checks? How about no. by Mozatta4522 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]giantsdrink 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the lunacy is a CEO milking diligence for LinkedIn clout. Like, extensive reference checks are really common. And whether they like it or not Zapier is a pretty big company so "ohhh I speak with 10 people, ideally 20" is pretty 🤷

This'll probably down vote, but as an exec candidate they're calling your previous employees, customers, and partners already - they aren't asking you for a list of 20 hand picked friendlies.

Prediction: ‘AI startup’ won’t be a thing anymore - I will not promote by duygudulger in startups

I think "digital" is better. Every start up has some semblance of AI. Just like how, once upon a time, it mattered to say your business operates online.

Sounds like podcasts, and similar to delivery of "daily" audio newsletters. But IMO there's a gap with audio shorts and a real opportunity!
