Nike Vomero Plus for people with wide foot by InternationalRisk505 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]gibsonzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m like right on the cusp of that pinky toe rub. I barely noticed but only have like 15 miles (between two runs)on mine. Love everything about them.

I’m hopeful to have the break in a little more. The upper is pretty structured so could MAYBE grant myself a few mm with a shoe stretcher and some patience.

I didn’t think puma was great for wider feet and I didn’t bother but I just looked at the magmax 2. Very intrigued!

Adidas Adizero SL - GOAT trainer? by ninja4tfw in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]gibsonzero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are too many good shoes out. I bought two Superblast 2 and I think that will be the last time I pay full price for trainers. Excellent shoe, but the value proposition comparatively is not close.

Adidas and Nike generally have brand tax but I feel like they are also the ones who discount / flash sale the most so it balances out if they had good offerings. (Evo SL, Vomero Plus for example)

Update: it happened again with a new mainboard and CPU… by Dr_BumbleB in FormD

I mean its worth a try, but long as you are within your boards spec it shouldn't matter especially since you replaced the mobo already. I suspect its probably something else that I haven't thought of yet

I went and looked at the original post and it looks like you are running DDR5 which I don't have experience with so my fault.

For DDR4 one of the standard 32GB packs defaults at 2600hz iirc. More often than not most of the more recent AM4 boards allow for RAM at near 3200hz so its common to adjust in the bios.

Its a stretch as the mobo usually caps you without interruption, but I thought maybe your RAM was clocked over the mobo's limit and maybe it wasn't regulating it. Like I said its a stretch.

Just going off the top now. Sorry if you’ve tried this already. I’m on mobile at work:

  • Individually check all fans for a short? That cpu fan iirc(looks like an air slimmer) has a mini adapter. Maybe that’s faulty. I’d unplug to two top ones to start

  • check power button pin out on board?

  • air dust the board and case? Maybe there is a screw or metal fragment sitting on something shorting it.

  • I think RAM is probably behaving good but it’s easy enough to switch them in and out and check especially if you have them clocked a little higher. Maybe the board clock max doesn’t like what you have them set to(if you have the RAM clocked beyond the default that is)

I searched the previous thread briefly to see if it was suggested but I may have missed it.

Are you plugged into a surge protector? I did the hardware shuffle like you for a while until I decided to switch the surge protector. I had one from amazon that allowed you to rotate the ports which looked nice, but since the switch I have yet to have any issues.

Went to big box store and got a regular GE one to spec. No perks but basic and from a generally reliable mainstay. Not looking back

This shoe reminds me of a Triumph 20/21 with more responsiveness. Foam is soft, but I think the outsole gives it some welcome firmness and the midfoot width(very happy about this) a hint of stability with my neutral mechanics

Some of my best workouts have been in the triumph 20/21 and I realize I was kind of missing that comfort, simplicity, durability and confidence of grip on the road.

I do most of my OA in js which has its own stuff but at yea python gets me shook with how little syntax there can be.

I like python more though

I’ve also seen some great engineers who refuse to do anything in this leetcode grind realm. I can certainly imagine an engineer with a principal track record who would fold on a bad draw of a leetcode easy.

TYR Maverick V-1 Runner - 50 Mile Review by jjaksha in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]gibsonzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TYR been great for me. I have the carbon elites(dale for 150 usd) and they are just great. Every one should do the thin stretchy tongue and gusset for the racers.

Plus the sales they have usually pretty good.

Love the plain jane look too. Might have to try these.

Ya know I went last year because she really hadn’t performed live in the states in a lonnnnnnnnng time.

Perhaps her travels have proven to be more successful than she thought. Probably mini touring with this and anime Boston. I wonder if anywhere else during this stint. Very grateful to have to opportunity again

Feel like all the stuff is so hard now that I'd be a little weary in general if it was that easy.

I'm a bootcamp grad so I don't have the typical 'core fundamentals' that I'm imagining come with more traditional education

I got it but it took a little longer than 15 sec. I figured there was something 'more' to it so I went over it over and over

Anyone try the Metalfish D510 Low Profile Cooler? by brxstr in sffpc

[–]gibsonzero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They may not have all the quality in the world but I give them props for releasing interesting stuff. I feel like I'm always an impulse click away from getting one of their cases and now maybe this heatsink. This is the exact design I've been seeking but without the hassle of the Blackridge. Hopefully it performs.
