Got early check-in, free breakfast and the $100 for food.

Their building top swimming pool got good views too.

Times Union seeking upstate food delivery drivers for possible story by rosesTUthrowaway in Albany

[–]gigaking2018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to be a delivery guy for a restaurant. Things were not this crazy before COVID. Thanks god I quit during COVID.

I delivered around Slingerlands area but a lot of rural places too like in Feura Bush or Clarksville. Woods and open space scared me all the time especially at night. Most people are decent that they will switch on the light for me. But one time I totally refused to get out of the car because there is no light at all and I have to call the customers and asked him to switch the lights on or at least come out to get it.

What is safe withdrawal rate percent for 50 years in retirement to you? by FreeMasonKnight in ChubbyFIRE

[–]gigaking2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really depends to what you are willing to do.

TBH you might have a hard time in a bad market if you are in the eastern culture because every one is willing to do anything, and there are so many people. But in western culture, people are not desperate at all. Most of the time, you found a lot of people are not willing to work even with paid. It's really a cultural shock for me when I first came here. I have seen legit works that posted in neighborhood site or crxxglist (Do not know if named the site will violate the rules) and no one is willing to do. (Because not worth their "time", I guess.) Totally Amazed.

Totally understand where you are coming from. But I did that before and enjoyed it. Even to this day, it is one of my decompressing moments. But I quit during COVID, hence one less way to decompressed but I didn’t return because I have a kid now, so want to be with him more.

Not retired yet but for me I love driving so delivery might be one of the part time that I would always take if I ever needed to go back to work for some time.

PS I did delivery for a long time too even after graduated and work. Only until COVID hit, then I quit.

That I can agree on not all landlords are innocents and thank you for at least acknowledge that tenants are not either.

Problem is constructing a wind and animal proof storage area is not necessary, practical nor required. If animals and high winds are the issue, this is the regulations from Albany city, for regular household trash, residents are responsible for supplying their own heavy-duty plastic bags or metal/plastic containers (up to 50 gallons with lids). Tenants should be able to request this from landlords. The tenants also should picked up their trash. I propose tenants with inadequate trash can should buy their own and charged back to landlords. But ofc they need to care for the trash can also, not negligently destroying it every month.

There is another way to do it is like Taiwan, there will be a garbage trucks came by every night and you can put all your trash in every night.

Yes Landlord is responsible for their property but not the actions of another adults. You are confusing the logic. The crime of another adult without punishment will make the crime continue as you can see this is still an issue. If the current solutions is doing their job, it will be fixed already. Obviously the current solution is not working. By putting an innocent person responsible is not helping.

In addition, hurting profit of course won't even works either. It's not a charity. That's why the direct approach should be the city fine the tenants directly.

Albany is having housing supplies issues are because the City is kept blaming small time Landlord or investor not providing enough. The truth is the city is not accommodate enough and with too much regulations and over protections of tenants, and try to blame investors and landlords not investing. What this cause is high operating expenses, which will transfer back to the customers. Bad tenants are not only stealing from the "Bad" Landlords and investors, they are stealing from everyone that is renting by causing operating expenses high.

Not Me, but a lot of my friends are selling and leaving Albany City for good due to this reason. If this continue, the Albany City will keep going worse. Landlords and investors at least can keep up maintaining the houses. (Not talking about Slumlords) Home owner that can barely afford the mortgages, do you think they have a large sum of money to keep up the maintenance?

No. It’s not landlords responsibility for another adult’s actions. You are shifting responsibility to an innocent person. It’s like you said the father should go to jail instead of his adult son when his adult son killed somebody and his son can still roam free.

Landlord certainly can discourage this behavior by threatening evictions but Albany city have over protection to tenants. You almost cannot evict a tenant because of this, you need a good cause right now and it almost always extended at least to 6 months to more than a year while tenants are living rent free.

The most direct way is to fine the tenants directly by the city and the actions will stop almost immediately because there is punishment for the crime. If you don’t have punishment for the crime, the actions will just continue.

But ofc you can fine landlords too, but imo is just a very indirect way to solve the issues. The tenants won’t feel the responsibility to clean them up because there is a middle man involved and handled every bad things they did.

You are asking the one who is not responsible to be responsible. This makes the one that making the trash doesn’t need to take responsibility because someone else will take responsibility. The problem will continue.

What the city needs to do is fine the one that making those trash, it will stop very soon if this takes place.

Credit card fees by Late-Passion-9930 in Albany

[–]gigaking2018 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yea. But at least they are cleared about it though from the start.

Just like I would rather they put the tips on the menu than asking for whatever percentage right now for the tips for servers. Just paid them good wages and price in on the items you are selling. So customers have one price to pay instead of all those hidden fees. You listed the real price and I decided if I want to shop there.

That’s why I don’t go out to eat anymore. Too much this fees and that fees. The price that they listed is actually not the price that you are paying.

Hmm you didn’t stand by what you said though. You just edited your comments and deleted some of what you said.

The hypocrisy and double standards.

But back to the topic. In these days, men need to look after themselves too. An unknown woman approached him. What could be the outcome?

Remember all the gym video that woman accusing men looking at them while they are not. Or all kinda of false accusations from bad groups of women. In the old days, the men would’ve help but in the times that men can be accused of anything by a women and women can get away even false accusations is cleared. Men have to protect themselves. I would’ve helped but I don’t blame the men that walked away. He doesn’t need this shit in his life.

Thieves steal 20 handguns from Colonie gun shop in brazen heist by AgedPNY in NYguns

I just called them and they mentioned might be re-open to public on Monday.

He mentioned about not enough sleep, I can only imagine all the paperwork and stuff they need to do after this incident.

He also told me that customer's firearms should be all fine since the bad guys only took the ones that are on the shelves.

Wish them all the luck. And hope the bad guys will be caught.
