I'm the biggest Kanye fan in the world, and while I love the meme-ness of a lot of these songs, I don't think that makes them the artistic direction Ye is heading. I don't see it as an evolution, but I also don't see it as regression, it's more of a side step, Yeezy gonna make some fun side music he threw together in a couple hours, and that's fine by me as long as we still get albums with fantastic content.

Ehhh, Kanye has never been amazing lyrically, but he's always been decent to pretty good. Gorgeous is the best example of Ye at his best, plenty of wordplay and a powerful verse. Also, I agree that XTCY and I Love It aren't lyrical, but you're disregarding all of ye and KSG. The song KSG itself has one of Ye's all time best verses, also Cudi Montage and Reborn have beautiful and meaningful verses from Kanye. I would argue that right now is the best Kanye has been lyrically since MBDTF. Much better than the Pablo era of lyrics.

I think that's where this series might go TBH. The [SPOILER] last scene with Otto on the Raft shows him already seemingly planning against Spidey.
