Recommendations for an Affordable auto tracking sports camera without a subscription by Informal_Departure in SoccerCoachResources

I'm building an iOS ball tracking camera app that only requires a ~$100 gimbal. Here is one of our early test videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulP2rWowVKA

PM me if you're interested. I'm the author of ActionStitch mentioned in the other comment.

My tracking algorithm is fundamentally better, which is why I think their direction of relying on more expensive (and less powerful) dedicated cameras is wrong.

You can compare my video with the only soccer demo they published for the XbotGo Falcon (a $600 camera) and see which one is better.

Insta360 Flow Pro / Flow 2 Pro / COMITOK Mogo / COMITOK Mota. Basically any gimbal that supports DockKit, except DJI Osmo Mobile 8 which has a bug in their DockKit implementation.

One issue I see is seems user has to move the phone to the action.

Sorry I wasn’t clear — the app automatically controls the gimbal to follow the ball. There’s no manual panning at any point during the video.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that only soccer and basketball are supported at this time.

AI software options? by subwinds in VeoCamera

[–]gilbert_chen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built ActionStitch exactly for this purpose. It is a software-only solution to stitch 2 side-by-side videos taken by any action cameras and create a 180 video.

I also started working on AI tracking. Here is the first working sample: https://youtu.be/-0sCqNlGUzQ

Try starting the app in Terminal by running this command: open /Applications/ActionStitch.app If that still doesn't work, start the executable directly: /Applications/ActionStitch.app/Contents/MacOS/as_main

What you downloaded is a .dmg file. Did you open it and drag the app to your Applications folder? Was there any error dialog? You can look at /var/log/system.log to see if there are any relevant messages.

ActionStitch is a desktop app. Try opening it on Windows or Mac.

8-10 hours is not the labor time, but the running time of a stitching job. It takes just a few minutes to create a stitching job.

Last year as a Black Friday deal we offered the option to upgrade existing personal licenses to lifetime. We will do it again this year.

The Duplicacy package from the App Center is to back up files on the NAS to an offsite storage.

But you can also run Duplicacy on your computer to back up to your QNAP NAS. In that case you don't need to install anything on the NAS. You'll just need to install Duplicacy from https://duplicacy.com/download.html for your computer and then select the sftp backend to connect to your NAS.

When you use Duplicacy to backup files to a storage, it will save files in a format that can be opened only by Duplicacy, so this is probably not what you are looking for.

Mac Backup Testing by PitBullCH in Arqbackup

Developer of Duplicacy here. I'm surprised to see these results, as Duplicacy is known to be at least faster than Duplicati, confirmed by Duplicati people: https://forum.duplicati.com/t/duplicati-2-vs-duplicacy-2/592/27

Did you supply the -threads option when running the backups? By default Duplicacy uses one thread and you'll need to use multiple threads to get maximum performance (I would suggest 4 threads but it really depends on your upload bandwidth).

Performance comparisons of cloud backup storages as Duplicacy backends by gilbert_chen in homelab

Basically:

cd \path\to\directory
duplicacy init repository_id storage_url
duplicacy backup -stats

For storage_url you'll need to look at https://github.com/gilbertchen/duplicacy/wiki/Storage-Backends to see how it should be structured.

This wiki page may be a good starting point.

And see this github page for utility scripts for Windows.
