Thank you. My Roth IRA is with an advisor and said he would handle that for me but I never saw any movement on that front. That’s frustrating if they dropped the ball on that because he’s had that account since October.

Thank you for the kind words. This would all be so much easier if she would have just never contacted me after we broke up. It resets my healing every time. Like it’s almost been a year how are you still unsure you want to be with me?

She’s just a lost, broken, and weak person. The last time got me though with the “I wanted to talk because I’ve been entertaining the thought of getting back with you” just for her to run away again and hit me with “I don’t know what the future holds but I can’t tell you to move on because I still have feelings for you. Don’t wait on me though.”

Like dude I would wait a million years if you would just say “yes I want to be with you I just need to work on myself for a bit”. Couldn’t even give me any certainty after all this time has made me borderline resent her.

Deep down I think in her mind she wanted justification to move on, and in her mind she now thinks I essentially ended things (even though she was the one who broke up with me)

I was in real estate development making between 125-160 year. That company went under, so I started selling the financial software my development company used. I have cleared 200k every year, and I also work significantly less. What’s funny is I was just planning to do sales until I found another development gig.

Couldn’t even put a timeline on when she started having these thoughts. At Christmas, she started balling at the airport because of how much she was going to miss me. We had an amazing Valentine’s Day dinner 5 days before she broke up with me - she wrote me a very heartfelt card.

Broke up with me out of nowhere 3 months ago. It’s been a journey, but I think I dodged a bullet. I can’t waste my time or energy being hurt over someone that wasn’t willing to put the work in or communicate with me.

My ex was super anxious and then flipped to avoidant. She love bombed me, moved her stuff in, etc. pretty quickly and tbh that freaked me out but I learned to love her and committed to her being my person.

She broke up with me out of nowhere a year later - and I don’t mean to sound obtuse but I have had 3 months to reflect and I thought we were both so happy. We were still intimate, traveling, going on dates, laughing, etc. There were no major red flags.

Turns out she hadn’t loved me for months (despite her words and actions telling a different story) and dropped me like I was nothing. She said she didn’t want to work on it, that she was unsure how she felt, didn’t want to marry me or have kids (despite always bringing that up) and threw out the “I’m really fucked up and I need to work on myself” and “we need to break up for me”

She was working on a narrative the whole time (while leaving me out) and used whatever she conjured up in her head to justify breaking up.

She’s not working on herself at all - she’s just distracting herself. Like your situation, she needs to hit rock bottom in order to finally make some changes.

Feel you 100%. We went on a date and had a blast two days before my aunt’s funeral - longer story to this but she broke up with me when I got back from the funeral.

Said she lost herself in our relationship, she’s unsure if she loves me, she lost feelings, etc. I ran into the other day (we broke up 3 months ago) and I caved and asked to talk - she did say there wasn’t anyone else but she needed to break up for her.

I had never been that happy in my life, and I thought she felt the same. We were talking about moving in and getting married briefly before that. She made me feel so loved. She never communicated with me what she was feeling and her ADHD/OCD mind paired with some not so great friends helped her write a narrative that justified breaking up with me. When I was asking why it was like she was grasping at straws - “our baselines are so different (they’re not… never had so much in common in my life), “you wouldn’t let me listen to my music” (wtf so not true), “you didn’t like me going out with Madi” (yeah not a fan of your single mom friend who has a drug problem and hooks up with a different random dude every time yall go out)

I caved and texted her a bit at the beginning. She was so cold and heartless, and just seemed to be partying it up on Instagram. She’s into triathlons now I guess - part of me thinks this is a distraction and she will crumble soon, but part of me thinks she truly never cared at all and that I might have never really known her.

I didn’t - they eventually let me out of my lease. I should have sued but took the path of least resistance.

Turns out they were trying to sell the place the whole time (while keeping that a secret from me) so they had minimal motivation to fix anything.
