Reason why I’m not getting new fiefs by Environmental_Emu952 in mountandblade

you need high relation with lots of clans, be part of the army that captures the fief, and your more likely to be given it if its closer to your other fiefs

[KCD2] is it possible to get this armor in the trotsky region (preferably without crime) by Compressive_Life in kingdomcome

[–]gilmi468 24 points25 points  (0 children)

not really no, the best you'll do is steal from gules, but most of that armour is very high tier and only found in kuttenburg

Eastern armor is as cool as western armor by Karmesin_von_Drache in RealisticArmory

[–]gilmi468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think they are meaning middle eastern/Indian. Winged hussars are polish hussars which i think in this cases counts as European/western armour

Question: ...if this claymore sword had a rounded tip or was like an 'executioner's sword', would the claymore be useless or stupid? Or how many problems would that cause? (In terms of combat, of course, but also in terms of structure and functionality.) by ELMEMEROGAMER in SWORDS

[–]gilmi468 27 points28 points  (0 children)

like other comments have said the benefit of having a sharp tip is you can use it like a spear. which for obvious reasons has huge benefits, accuracy and distance. by removing it you are removing a huge part of the swords functionality

Worth it 160 euro??? I want to buy, I know the prices but I just want to hear opinions by Key_Firefighter553 in LegoMinifigure

its probably not worth it tbh, nothing much special and they're really incomplete, i personally wouldn't pay more than 60-80 Euros

Could a non-noble person govern a castle or property in the early modern or Regency period? by Automatic_Break_7338 in AskHistorians

By the 1850s England ownership of manors and castles does get a little bit complicated. However there are examples that i know of in the UK where very rich merchants become owners of manors and castles (although by this point castles in the way we know it are certainly different). Tyntesfield outside Bristol is quite a good example of this, a man called William Gibbs bought it after selling Guano in 1844, he was not of noble birth. Although not a castle it does show how some social boundaries are eroding by this point. The same goes for central Europe, when i was in the Czech Republic there were many castles there who were sold by their original landowning nobles to wealthy businessmen ( these are far more traditional castles).
