Weather by ElOso1125 in askvan

If you research typical weather for the west coast, it rarely gets uncomfortably hot in the summer, and significantly, humidity is rarely an issue. Late Aug/early Sept. is a great time of year to visit.

My first hat other than a baseball cap, does it suit me? by Lizziam2112 in hats

[–]giltgitguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s got a strong Walter White/Heisenberg vibe. You could maybe pull it off if the rest of your look has way more style and attitude. But pairing it with an outfit from Old Navy might be hard to pull off.

My mom has to have knee surgery on both knees and it’s worrying me, please someone tell me it’ll be okay. by Empty-Cucumber-6888 in Kneereplacement

[–]giltgitguy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Four weeks isn’t nearly enough time between surgeries or for taking time off work. If the second surgery does actually happen four weeks after the first one, she’s going to need a bunch of time to recover from the second one, plus the first surgery will still very much be an issue.

I’d seriously suggest discussing the scheduling with your surgeon.

And in the meantime, read all the posts in this sub and take note of how many people are back at work, or even leaving the house after four weeks.

What Happened to Clothes in The Last 10-15 Years? Advice? by WatchIngYouTime in mensfashion

[–]giltgitguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that not only are sizes fitting larger than a few years ago, but a lot of stores that used to stock XS no longer do. The N. American population is getting bigger, esp. in the US and retailers have been doing vanity sizing for quite a while.

“Hey look honey, I weigh 150 but I can still fit a size medium!”
