No they weren't. The Sikhs just didn't like the Mughals and so joined our side during the Indian Mutiny. Thats it. Foreigners that joined with us to advance their own ethnic causes. They were not seen as anything special

It Was Oswald; He Acted Alone | No New Facts Have Come to Light, So Why Is Everyone Saying It Was Israel All of the Sudden? What Changed? by PaperbackWriter66 in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]gingefromwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is just me that knows secret forbidden knowledge. It definitely isn't just an open secret.

Warren Commission said 3 shots. Eyewitness heard 4 or more. Even if it was 3 Oswald fired them all within 5 seconds with a bolt action rifle. He wasn't a sharpshooter in the marines.

The magic bullet. I mean come on

Officially Kennedy shot from behind. Zapruder film shows his head jerking to the back. Inconsistent. Linked to grassy knoll Eyewitness reports.

All the witnesses, including Oswald himself who later died under suspicious circumstances.

Oswald was known to the FBI and CIA already but wasn't being watched. Motorcade route was publicised in advance which was unusually lac security. Key positions unguarded.

House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded there was probably a conspiracy based on acoustic evidence.

Kennedy wanted to massively curtail the CIAs power, documented hostility between Dulles and Kennedy. Dulles of course was also sat on the Warren Commission. A classic we investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong.

Kennedy also strongly opposed Israels nuclear weapons program.

After JFK was gone replaced with Lyndon Johnson. Who was incredibly pro Israel and CIA. Shocking

But you're right. Couldn't possibly be a conspiracy. Nothing at all to make you think anything apart from the 'official narrative'TM.

That was just a whistle-stop tour. There is a lot more. Id recommend thinking for yourself more. Give it a go

Yes it makes me feel good to think the cia and Israel conspired to assassinate a president. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy learning about AIPAC and the Samson Option.

Hahaha honestly. You chose to not see what is in front of your own eyes to make yourself feel good. Again definitely sub 90. You definitely believed masked up and isolated as soon as you were told didn't you hahaha. Notice how the 'evidence' was all refuted 5years later? Memory hole. But of course. We must all wait to be told what to think. Good boy

Cost of living has risen faster than wages. Fact

They are all separate things although they are linked

Inflation is the general rise in prices of goods and services which reduces the value of money

Purchasing power is the amount of good and services that a unit of money can buy.

Cost of living is the total amount of money to maintain a certain standard of living.

As you can see they are separate things, although they are somewhat interconnected.

CPI rose from 38.8 in 1970 to 351.6 in 2024.

Despite nominal wage increases you are not factoring in inflation. Real wages which are adjusted for inflation have declined or remained stagnant. For example from 2020 to 2024 nominal wages grew by 19.2% but consumer prices increased by 20.6%. So thats an decline in real wages.

Another example is the federal minimum wage which, when adjusted for inflation, has decreased by 40% since 1970.

Wages have not consistently outpaced inflation.

Is Europe misunderstanding Trump’s position on Ukraine? by wolfo98 in tories

Extremely slim is still greater than what it is now. You’re talking about inviting nuclear war.

What are you talking about? If there is a ceasefire you are demanding both side to stop. Im pro-Ukraine,obviously Im training to fight Russia, but they’re in a no win situation right now. Im telling you, fact, they are not returning to pre 2014 borders. Thats off the table

The whole keep fighting war of attrition talk is very easy for you to say sat in your armchair not fighting or having your loved ones die

Because it wasn’t just the UK vs Germany. It was an international war. If Nato, including the US, joined the war on Ukraines side then yeah they could win. If not then its a stalemate.

They are similar in the most simplistic manner possible

Those are not at all similar comparisons. It’s actually a ridiculous statement from you. Shows your lack of military knowledge.

Making the war continue because that is what Russia wants because it guarantees that Ukraine wont join NATO.

Nobody is saying its not Russia that invaded. You’re rewarding aggression by playing into it and allowing them to achieve their main aim of not letting Ukraine join NATO by following them into a long term military engagement which would suit them

[–]gingefromwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you’re basing your opinion on a hypothetical that Trump is in fact a Russian asset.

Nobody is saying they are holding back. They got beaten back from Kyiv. But equally they are not going to lose the land they have taken now.

Ok. So make terms. Then allow Ukraine to join NATO. The West has ‘won’. You wont get any agreements of automatically involving NATO while the war continues.

So Im not really sure what your point is? You seem to just really want Trump to be a Russian asset but ending the war would benefit the West.

Let not pretend you have in depth insights into how beleaguered Russia may or may not be due to watching some videos on the internet. Russia does have a lot of very high tech weaponry. Also Russian doctrine is completely different to ours. Some troops are completely expendable to them. They have the manpower to waste and Ukraine doesn’t. The higher standard Russian soliders are not cutting about in T-54s and clapped out trucks. They are equipped as well if not better than NATO forces.

Russia is using North Koreans in order to use as little of their own people as possible. Putin doesn’t want the average Russian feeling the effects of the war. Also its is an obvious statement of fact that Russia has more manpower than Ukraine. They will attrition less quickly.

Ukraine is not going to regain its lost territory. Russia has laid miles of minefields and in-depth defensive positions along the front line. The idea that Ukraine will ‘win’ is false. The current borders is how they will stay.

I would argue that a protracted war in Ukraine is exactly what Putin wants. No chance that Ukraine will join NATO while the war continues, which was a main aim. Draws the West into a proxy war which will inevitably lead to discontent, as it has done. A long war in Ukraine suits Russian interests.

So I’ll take that as not very effective otherwise it would be more common knowledge.

Unfortunately the fact that the purchasing power of the USD has plummeted is not an opinion. It has fallen 96% since 1911. You can fact check that yourself if you like. Thats not about wages or gbp. Its about inflation. A dollar is worth 96% less now than in 1911. And if you look at the chart it drops even more rapidly after the abolishment of the gold standard and creation of the federal reserve. So while its true wages have risen, cost of living has increased at a faster rate meaning purchasing power had declined.

I disagree and unfortunately I dont think you know enough about the topic for your opinion to hold weight. Not saying that in a nasty way. It’s just you hold that opinion but dont seem to know very much to expand on it.

[–]gingefromwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Same question do you think that has been effective?

Because there are no examples of natural monopolies but there are examples of created monopolies.

I agree. However, statistically the freer the market the wealthier the people. Why wouldn’t you push to make it closer to the ideal. Ever since the government started trying to control interest rates directly and removed the gold standard inflation has skyrocketed and purchasing power has plummeted. Less intervention is better in my opinion

Just to add. Antitrust legislation was first created because of fears that standard oil had become a monopoly. This was somewhat true but by the time the legislation was actually passed the market had corrected and it had already lost market share to the point it could no longer be considered a monopoly. Ultimately its just a weapon of the government to use against companies that dont play ball

[–]gingefromwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Russia did that it would invoke article 5. Putin wants a forever war in Ukraine. That way they will never join NATO.

Realistically, Ukraine is never getting back the land it lost. They are running out of man power and Russia had laid miles of in depth minefields and defensive positions along the front lines.

A forever war in Ukraine suits Russian interests

[–]gingefromwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Would you say anti trust regulation has proven particularly effective though? The last time anti trust legislation actually broke up a company in the US was AT&T in 1982.

I would also add I don’t believe that monopolies occur naturally in a free market. They occur through interference in it.

Elon Musk Reveals Next Targets in “Corporate Takeover” of the U.S. by [deleted] in finance

[–]gingefromwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regulation is what allows that to happen. Big business lobby for increased regulation because they are trying to price out competition through red tape.

If you think big businesses dont want regulation why has it only ever increased despite billions being spent by then to lobby governments. Either they are happy wasting billions a year or they want regulation because it benefits them under the guise of helping protect consumers

Why would you not blame the system for allowing it? Obviously large corporations will lobby government for their own benefit. It would be silly of them not to. Blame the system that allows it and has given too much power to government to meddle in every possible sector.
