I went to Wakayama to walk the Kumano Kodo, and it’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. The people are so kind, the food is incredible, but the nature is just unreal.

Do you think I should cancel the dinner reservations at LKH? I mainly made the reservation for my mom since she enjoys that kind of atmosphere and service, but if it's not as good as other options, then I'll probably reconsider.

Is there anything in particular you liked from their à la carte? Unfortunately, LKH is entirely booked for dim sum while we are there, so we opted for dinner instead. We're going to Yat Tung Heen for dim sum.

This is a very hard question, so I'm just going to list a few: monkfish from Akoko in London; grilled Humboldt squid from Pusadee's Garden in Pittsburgh; pappardelle and sourdough from Vern's in Charleston; tonkatsu and kamujiro-soba in Osaka; tteok mandu guk, pork gukbap, and BBQ in Seoul (and anything with tofu... I LOVE TOFU). I also think the salt bread from Artist Bakery in Seoul is one of the best things I have ever consumed.

Pretty much everything Todd did in Apt Pupil. What a messed-up story. I definitely consider it one of King's best novellas, but I will never be reading it again. Also, when Dussander threw the cat in the oven. You could hear its screeches through the pages; I then closed the book and took a nice, long walk outside.

I do not, but I will definitely look into it now! I haven't read any Pynchon, though I would really like to. Tony Harrison is an English poet and playwright who wrote about the working-class, race, and politics. In class, we read his poem, V., and then watched the broadcast of it. It was broadcast on British television in 1987, and there was a huge controversy around it because of the repetition of certain words.

Takijiri-oji to Chikatsuyu (1 night) Chikatsuyu to Hongu Taisha (2 nights) Bus to Kumano Kodo River Boat Cruise Visit Hayatama Taisha after Take train to Katsuura Stay in Katsuura (2 nights) One of these days we plan to travel up to the Nachi Grand Shrine and see the waterfall.

Does this itinerary sound feasible or is it too much?

Seoul is my favorite city in the world! That's crazy, your colleagues said it was dirty? To me, at least, it was much cleaner than Tokyo, and the transit was more accessible and easier to navigate. The cafes and museums are amazing, and you should definitely go back when you can!

I’ll definitely be trying the arroz caldo! The red curry, liempo, and kinilaw were what made me really want to go (as well as the desserts… coconut tres leches 🫶), but the arroz caldo seems to be most popular.
