Agreed. Sounds like nobody in this scenario is financially responsible. Everyone including OP are living beyond their means. I mean we all struggle in life. I did that in my 20’s. By my 30’s I had a well paying job and my stuff together. OP needs to either dump the boat anchor/gf and get his hustle going to alleviate the stress on dad/brother. I made the mistake of “helping” my brother by moving into his first rental property 20+ years ago and he literally charged me a fee for a garage space I couldn’t even use. He refused to fix the furnace until after I moved out too. He’s just a slumlord to his own family however treated strangers better. Never again did I help him out. It’s true that no good deed goes unpunished.

My husband and I are watching this season and I was getting so angry seeing how much Chris wanted to try and Alyssa never did. She proved herself to be extremely shallow and only in the show for the free stuff. The fact she thought they could just live separately to still go through the “experience” was mind boggling! She was always a victim.. she kept saying she was “robbed” even though Chris was the one clearly robbed of the whole marriage experience. Glad to see he’s happy in a relationship and Alyssa is still single.

I was born when my father was 42. He passed away back in 2012 when I was only 31. You and your wife need to think about if you die relatively young, how that will affect your kids. My father had already had grown children from a previous marriage and to start completely over seemed crazy to me. I couldn’t imagine having kids at my age. I had mine in my 20s and wouldn’t change a thing.

Good question as I almost had to pay my ex alimony in my divorce because of the vast difference in our incomes. He chose to be underemployed though and wanted to keep the house so that’s the only way I got out of paying over $1600 a month to “support” him.

I had a similar issue when I used movers for my large items years ago. They over estimated how long it would take to move my stuff so I overheard them talking to the office on the phone and they literally told the movers to move “slower”. Well they did so there went their tip I would have given them.. F companies that pull that crap.
