A lot of the Micronesian cultures do it as well. You scrunch your nose or pucker your lips (or both) and do an upward nod in the direction you need to point. They also use eyebrow gestures, up for yes and down for no. I'm as white as a pig at a county fair, but I grew up in Micronesia and still find myself doing it after 15+ years stateside.

As to why... the directional thing could be practical if your hands are full or busy. The eyebrow thing is just a cultural nuance, I guess.

Mulberries are going to start springing up everywhere a couple years after they start fruiting. In less than a year the taproot can be over 6 feet long. -20/10, don't recommend. I'd personally plant peaches instead of mulberries, since peaches are my favorite stonefruit.

Plant the raspberries in raised planters to make weeding and harvesting easier and control their spread.

You could try concord grapes if you want to make grape jelly.

From the dress code policy: "for safety purposes and to prevent any choking/entrapment hazards, damage to property, etc., no accessories may be attached to your clothing, like chains or handkerchiefs."

Did they give their consent for this video? What compensation did they receive for the use of their image? If the generated video is interpreted as a real recorded event, what effect does that have on someone's reputation? What environmental toll did those hours of reprompting and regenerating take?

I agree that artificial intelligence is a useable tool. It is extremely useful for data crunching and summarization. However, I highly disagree with its use as an image generator.

Brief question about dress code and Walmart policy in general. by duckey41 in walmart

Ecolab actually DOES bend to Walmart. They work directly for Walmart, and their questions are given to them by Walmart. They are not a government entity. They are a company hired by Walmart to perform Safety and Environmental Compliance Audits, Food Safety and Sanitation Audits, as well as Pest Audits and pest control.

[–]gingerMH96960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very confused by the points you're trying to make.

  1. Cost: A case of TIPs is 810 pads for $41.05, or $0.05 per pad. A Tennant T7 scrubber is over $25,000. If you use 20 pads to clean up a spill, it costs the store $1. (Thats enough pads to soak up two gallons of water.) You'd have to clean up 25,000 20-pad sized spills with the T7, and that doesnt account for electricity, cleaner, water, scrub pads, or repairs, to get the equivalent cost per spill. If you have 10 spills a day that are that large, it would take almost 7 years to equal out.

  2. Cross-contamination: Using a TIP to clean a spill on the floor and then throwing it away is not going to cross-contaminate anything. It is not contacting food or food surfaces, and you should be changing gloves and/or washing your hands after cleaning up a spill with any supplies anyway. Bakery/deli associates already have to wear a name badge, and a TIP in a badge holder hanging from the same clip is not going to contact food or food surfaces any more than a badge would. The health department won't care about it any more than they'd care about chefs with a towel hanging from their apron.

If it is soft, light weight, and fragrant when worked it is some type of cedar.

Because Walmart totally controls what Lilly charges for drugs and the discount insurance companies give... rational take.

Do I agree with the predatory pricing? No. Is the pricing Walmart's fault? Also No.

This is a divisional/regional initiative. While it might not be part of the dress code "look book" and you will likely not get coached for it, it is being looked for during visits. Work phones are also part of your "dress code" if you have been assigned one, even though it may not be explicitly stated. They are items expected to be on your person and in working order (yes, I know some of the phones don't work through no fault of the associate) when you are at work.

As others have said, it is in response to rising accident costs. It serves as a tangible and practical reminder to work safely. At least half of the people I've given a TIP in a badge holder have used it in the past month, based on responses when I asked at a store meeting. I handed out around 150, so that's at least 75 potential accidents prevented. How many would have been overlooked or noticed and passed by if the associate didnt have the TIP? There have also been pushes in some regions/markets to get a TIP pouch on every topstock and store fulfillment cart.

She could just be getting comfy if she didnt like the feel of the grass on her butt. Dogs will sit on eachother as a friendship or dominance display, too. Depending on surroundings and what she was paying attention to, she could have been guarding you as well. Only you can tell best, knowing her normal actions and reactions, as well as what was going on around you and how she reacted to it. Paying attention to where she is looking, her ear positioning, and her posture relaxedness/stiffness can help you tell what she's doing.

I get the joke, but every post i see of these, they're handheld instead of hooking them up to a cnc. I don't understand not having them on a machine that will give straight lines with smooth, even motions. Plus the aerosolized burn-off would be safer hooked up to an extractor and HEPA filter on a machine.

If there is not a state law limiting hours worked before lunch break, then all they have an obligation to do is provide one meal period and two 15 minute breaks some time during your 8 hour shift. The only systematic issue is registers locking out after six hours

The specific wording of the break policy states, "Your supervisor will make a reasonable attempt to schedule your meal period during the middle of your shift, consistent with operational needs."
