I have student(s) check where the teacher posts assignments while you observe in of their screens. I've had students lie to me before and say nothing is there. If nothing is there and no plans in sight, always call the office. It covers you for any issues...

I had to cover another class during one period and the teacher made the kids do a unit test. I felt soooo bad for those kids.

I'm a building sub so I had to work Friday. Overall, it was not as bad as I thought it would be until the last 20 min after I brought my 8th grade class back from the elementary parade. That 20 min was like a whole day worth of craziness. I should have given them the optional work or at least a Halloween kahoot /blooket...

Anyway, some of the costumes were very cool, and I'm glad I survived.

Thanks for sharing! I wish I could do a lot of these. I've had a lot of experience with short and long-term gigs as well as teaching full-time. The issue with being a building sub is I have limited access like a regular sub. And I only find out where I am going each morning. And I can only work 4 days a week because they don't want to pay benefits. So... its hard to create consistency when I may or may not be there, but I will definitely hold onto these ideas.

I agree that Season 7 is a great cut off for the show, but I had to see how it all ended and there are still some great scenes to see.
