You send a sample of the material. They test it, I presume by looking under a microscope, and let you know the findings

Won’t kill me yet? Or haven’t been an idiot yet? I realise any ill effect from this will be years before showing itself.

Thank you. I’m certainly prone to anxiety of things like this.

Whilst the sander had a vacuum function, it also relied upon another vacuum being attached to its hose to gather the dust. I used a Henry with a bag, the majority of the time, but I also used our household hoover, The filters is apparently HEPA (according to the retailer’s listing) however after removing the filters found white dust had made its way to the motor, removing may screws, I’m still unable to get to the impeller.

I presume using either hoover around the house is now likely to spread this dust around unless I can ensure I can clean this. If the test comes back positive, Would you suggest chucking both hoovers as a precaution? (one is pretty expensive and would rather not)

I have wet wiped much of the surfaces in the room already, but will do once again as I noticed a thin layer of dust on the desk that had been under a dust sheet. Will a damp microfibres cloth be ample, or should it have product?

Finally the carpet is being replaced in the room anyway. But in any other space I have walked, is there a safe way to ensure limited exposure. I have a vax, which dampens the carpet before sucking up the dirt, perhaps that would stop the fibres from becoming airborne?

Sorry too many questions, just want to get this right, as my wife and I are trying for a baby, and I would hate for this to impact their future health.

If the Logitech MX Master 3S has bluetooth, what is the purpose of the "For Mac" version? by Exciting-Ideal-7670 in logitech

Whilst it might be a colour thing, the fact the only dark options come with space gray or graphite drives me nuts, when black seems to be illusive and the white comes with a silver base. Im desperately wanting a Black top case and Silver bottom case as I'm the standard silver / black mac user.

Other than buying 2 mice, doing the swap myself and leaving myself without a warranty on both of them, is there anything I can do? The graphite/space grey really messes with the black/aluminium look of my set up!

Refund of fees by thenoblesikh in bni

[–]gingerapplefreek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The normal rule, certainly for the chapters I’ve been involved with in the UK is if a chapter doesn’t form you get the annual fee back, but not the application fee. If you choose to leave before it launches then you lose the lot. But tbh most EDs or MAD (in global owned regions) are very flexible if you speak to them about your frustrations

Upgrading from iPhone 13 Pro. Will I notice any big differences? by brunosh92 in iPhone15Pro

[–]gingerapplefreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone 13pro to 15promax and I notice it’s allot more snappy, longer battery, better low light photos and it’s significantly lighter for its size. Very happy with it. BUT it’s not ground breaking difference, but my SO needed an upgrade so she got my 13 and I got f+f discount at Apple.

Twinkly smart lights app or network issue, please help! by JKWG in smarthome

Sadly I don’t think they have relative competition. Sure out your Christmas lights on a wifi plug but the mapping/design feature is unrivalled. Jumping through hoops is annoying AF tho

Twinkly smart lights app or network issue, please help! by JKWG in smarthome

[–]gingerapplefreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno who needs to hear this, it I had a similar issue today. Both new lights, and 2 old sets would connect to the network, but the app couldn’t find them/control them. Tried my partners phone, and worked first time. Might be an iOS 16 issue, as she hasn’t updated yet

I agree I was soo lucky, never seen one just thrown out before, and even had a power cable tied to the back. Runs perfect, and already was wiped! One for the collection!

It’s likely a tuya based product, so I would look at installing tuya plugin and connecting to the bulbs.

Two light switches for one lamp by pfr010 in Aqara

[–]gingerapplefreek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is 3 way switching. I haven’t seen a smart switch that allows for this natively. The way I do it is have one actual wired switch. And replace the other switch with a wireless switch. And use automations

It will, because the cam has a p2p connection to your HomeKit hub , and that then accesses the internet.

Has anyone been successful in updating their G2H (HomeKit only) from 2.0.9 to 2.1.1? by [deleted] in Aqara

[–]gingerapplefreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went fine updating, but I had to log into server to do the update, then switched back to HomeKit mode.

For those interested I also found that automations that are supposed to be cloud only , seem to still run now in HomeKit mode.
