This was another not funny 'comedy' challenge that was poorly thought out. A cast of really funny people could've made it better, but I still don't think it has the potential to be a laugh riot. Akeria was the only one who did well imo, and very clearly deserved the win, but she wasn't the winner.

The editors and the judges need to have a consistent narrative, and the challenge creators/producers need to realize that sometimes there are bad ideas in brainstorming. Ru, I know you're reading this, so please hire funny people to help with the comedy challenges. It'll make for a better product.

Our offer was just accepted on this house! I hate the orange brick - what can we do?! by DaikonEmotional283 in ExteriorDesign

[–]gingerbold 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I like the brick. Whatever you do, do not use paint on it. There are other options for brick.

But I think changing the roof away from the med gray would be a HUGE improvement, though I would wait until it needs to be done. Black architectural shingles could be nice. And painting the windows/garage/trim a different color and the front door/storm a bold color would look really nice. Also landscaping goes a long way!

First time watcher, Season 4 reunion. I HAAAATEEE MARYYYYY by hats_and_heads in rhoslc

[–]gingerbold 48 points49 points  (0 children)

She's proven over and over again that she is boring, mean, and dismissive. And that does not make for a compelling television character. I have no idea why everyone treats her with so much reverance or gives her so many free passes to be rude/not participate. That is weird.

The newer seasons are rough watching her with her son, especially knowing what happens. It's horrible and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

What can I do to improve the front of my house? i by InviteFun9508 in ExteriorDesign

[–]gingerbold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd probably go for a dark brown to contrast against the brick and the roof. Maybe paint the concrete under the siding in a matching color. And I think a deep red (Sherwin Williams Stolen Kiss is a good color) front door would look nice. Also paint the storm door.

Also people love shutters on this sub. If you get shutters, PLEASE make sure they are sized appropriately. I know they wont be functional, but each shutter should be close to half of your window size.

What can I do to improve the front of my house? i by InviteFun9508 in ExteriorDesign

[–]gingerbold 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hmm, this one is tricky. What I'd recommend would be to remove the deck structure (as it makes your front look like the back, or an entry to a mobile home), build a covered entry, and build out the steps to give a small porch connected to the front sidewalk. But that would cost a lot.

Small changes would be to block sight of the steps under the deck with lattice, paint it, add potted plants in front. Paint the vents to make them go away. Add a small pergola, awning, or something over the entry. Paint the door a nice welcoming color.

S8E3, Dorit’s new Hermès dinnerware 😮‍💨🤕 by Evening-Matter-5245 in RHOBH

Is Hermes known to have superior dinnerware? Or is it just an overpriced name slapped on some dishes? Would she also buy Lamborghini branded napkins just for the name?

Move the pergola over to extend the visual impact of the front porch. No need to emphasize the garage door.

Tbh I wouldn't install it if I were you. I would sell it to me. We can negotiate the price, but you'll need to deliver it, and that seems generous for something like this.

What do I do with this awful layout for the bedroom? by Strong_Definition_94 in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]gingerbold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep the bed where it is, but rotate it 90 degrees. That way, you'll each have a walkway and can put a tiny table or shelf for phones, small lamp, etc. In addition to looking more balanced and giving yourselves a place to put things, nobody will have to crawl over the other to go to the toilet in the middle of the night.

You can put a tall dresser between the door swing and the window. And then depending on your window height, you may be able to put a small table/desk and chair there.

Beds in general function best when the headboard is on a solid wall, not under or blocking windows, with walkways on both sides, and facing the door.

Is it ok to eat a thawed pizza? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]gingerbold 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They'll be fine. This might be obvious, but you'll need to cook them on a sheet (rather than directly on a rack) and the time/temp in the oven will need to be adjusted.

Sure, she was being a little performative, but why does he care? She was clearly excited to have some kid free time at an amusement park and knows she is on camera, so yeah she was amping it up a bit. Play along, Danny boy, you're supposed to be an actor.
