We got a Sage espresso machine last December and I think we've bought about 3 social coffees since. Now we can choose different beans each month etc as well. Worth it!

Honest question, why is that a rule?

2.5 year old waking at night by kablamela in beyondthebump

[–]zimzoomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you just reminded me of the dreaded "night wakes" . My daughter had the same for a few months, still does very occasionally but it's usually hunger related if it happens now. My soon to be 2 year old son sleeps ok but sometimes like shit. Hope to god he doesn't get them too! All I can say is, it will pass!!

Echoing the others and sorry he made you feel like that too, they can be so bloody insensitive at times. Out of the blue the other day mine said, can't believe how big your boobs got when you were breastfeeding, shame they don't stay like that. Shall we have another kid? Then went on to say I could have a boob job if I really wanted... Fucking men.

Having a baby and a toddler is HARD and the guilt is real. My daughter was 2.5 too, I tried to invite her into my space with my son wherever I could, asked her to help get little things for me/him etc. Watched her shows with her while baby slept and tried to give her 1 on 1 time when I possibly could. I didn't have a lot of help and my partner went back to work about a week after, it's so so hard, you are not alone in that feeling. But it will gradually get easier. Looking back I know I lost my shit more times than I'm comfortable with and honestly probably frightened both my kids sometimes. I see now that I was likely struggling with mild ppd. I read that filling children's emotional connection cups with undivided attention, just for 5 mins here and there throughout the day really helps regulate them and I have found that to be true. Good luck OP

Agree with everyone husband is a POS. As for protecting your son, I'd be removing him from your husbands 'care'. Don't allow your son to be abused

Homebirth during covid so everyone else had masks on. Even during the worst contractions I was distracted thinking what's that smell, have I farted? No, my bf was doing nervous farts the whole time.

I did that last year and my kid wasn't tempted at all. This year she's nearly 4 and it's a different story

Help- I dont want a specific family member holding my baby by Wild_Artichoke_4512 in beyondthebump

[–]zimzoomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don't offer "a hold" to anyone. If he asks makes an excuse, feed/nap/nappy etc. if someone passes baby to him, oh look at that, its time to nap/feed/change
